I'm also going to have to take some things to the tip at the weekend while the workmen and their gear are all tidied away.

What a wonderful life!

The chainsaw sounds really interesting - who gets to play with it? Tidying up doesn't sound remotely interesting. I should be cooking and that doesn't sound remotely interesting either.

In four minutes I shall be watching 'The Tudors'.

I should be going to bed
I should too but because I don't have any workmen coming tomorrow, I intend having a litlle lie-in tomorrow. It'll have to be little though. My brother and sister-in-law are away and I'm on cat duty.
Enjoy your lie-in BT
I'm just waiting for Mum to get ready - then we'll go off to the shops. It's a short walk but more than dar enough for her.

I did get that lie-in, Nina, accompanied by the sweet sounds of scaffolders effing and shouting to each other as they banged about making adjustments and putting in new planking.

Ah well, tomorrow is another day! I won't get Rhett back but I may get a more restful lie-in.

Enjoy your shopping, megham. Maybe catch you later.

Enjoy your bath Meg. I love mine too if I get a chance for a bit of peace and quiet and a bit of reading. Most times though, the bathroom is more like Piccadilly Circus and I'm in demand to test Spanish, solve algebra problems or listen to moans.

Parents and sisters coming for lunch today - earlier, I prepared the roast, made fruit salad, apple crumble and egg mayo. Also made sure the place is clean and reasonably tidy. My mum has hawk's eyes.

I'm getting ready for church. It's the dedication service for all the youth organisations and they do most of the service.

Walking mum down to the centre. It'll be good to dry my hair in the sunlight as well.

Nina, make the most of hectic family life....it lasts for all too short a time. Hope your lunch family gathering

goes well.

Meg, if I dried my hair in the sun outdoors, I would be a fuzz-ball!

BT, do the young ones parade to church? I enjoy seeing the guides, brownies and rainbows on their annual

parade through town, they always look so smart. This year one of our grandchildren carried her company's

flag.

Must return to the kitchen now ......Sunday lunch beckons.

They do, just a lap around the oval crescent where the Church is located and a chance to match past and salute the minister and guests. Most Church members stay and cheer them on and then there's tea and coffee in the Church Hall for anyone who wants to linger longer and have a chat.
I bet that many a parent has tears in their eye. It's funny how things your kids do, get to you like that.
I know I did...................... from my son's first outing in his little red Anchor Boy jersey to proudly watching him accept his Queen's badge and then as he in turn became an officer to help other youngsters.
