Was there nothing in the local news bulletin to throw any light on it?

I should be going shopping but right now, all of today's work squads are having their break at the same time and it's so blissfully quiet. I'll go out when the noise starts up again.

Guess what I should be doing. Sitting here is such a welcome break, but now I must return to the gardening. Why is it

that the older one gets, the larger the garden becomes!

A contractor doing road works hit the water main. I don't think they want him to do that again.
Now why would they check? That would be the sensible thing to do.

Over here there's no visible sign though, is there?

In America they have all these tiny flags by the roadside which give the information.

And they even have those magic devining rods which workmen delight in wandering up and down with.....after all,

it is better than work.

I suppose they find it useful that the rods can tell them exactly wherfe to dig tyo get the pipes.

Apart from a couple of quiet hours at the hair salon today, I've been spitting feathers trying to download and install my new annual anti-virus program.

It's that so and so Norton which was driving me crazy and stopping me from installing the new program. There were apparently bits still on my computer after the program was supposed to have been removed.

I think it's all OK now and I'm beginning to calm down .

I hope it's not chancing my arm to say that I think I'm finally shot of it again.

It's so in your face. Always flagging up messages. I'd personally rather risk my computer than ever put it on again.

I prefer one which just sits quietly and goes about its job, only occasionally asking me how I want to deal with any doubtful thing it finds.

I would never have Norton and hate that they automatically give you trials when you buy a new PC. I never install it. At the moment I use AVG which is free and zone alarm for my firewall. I have heard that zone alarm anti-virus is good and at work we have Kaspersky.

I must make a phone call and see if I can leave the books and bits at someone elses house ready for the church fayre...that was what I'd forgotten what I needed to do today.

Then I must return Stephen's mum's bits....take the dogs for a walk

I also must look at the emails to see if anything needs answering.

I'm also waiting for a paypal payment

At last I appear to be doing something right......I have the free version of AVG, and there is zone alarm (although I

think that is to do with sites).

Today we went to the garden centres and bought new plants for the area we have cleared.....the more enjoyable

side of gardening. Oh, and lots of bulbs.
