The last time you were off, D sprang something on us.......the Big Sing. Hope history repeats itself.
It wont be just after a family death - so he wouldn't be safe, so he probably wont.
Have a good time, Meg, if you are having an away-break.
My friend has just come out of hospital and I've not seen much of her in the last year with my father-in-law being ill. We're catching up and I'm getting to stay in her new house. I'm looking forward to it and i'll be able to stop feeling guilty for neglecting a good friend - not that she would ever have thought of it as neglect.
I know that if I sit for an hour and try to delete things of my pc, I only end up going ahhh and just wasting my time - so I'm off to bed.

Hope you have a lovely time catching up Meg.

Sleep well.

I really thought the weather had changed. We actually saw the sun this morning...........in the afternoon it rained yet again.
We had 2 days of good weather. Just walked, talked and ate. How perfect is that? She's still not completely clear. Her voice isn't perfect and they are keeping a watch to see if the growths grow back.
Glad you had a good time Meg

The problem was, my dog had an epileptic fit last night. It was really scary. His tongue went right back into his throat and he didn't seem to be breathing - just thrashing about with his eyes open and glazed. I managed to get his tongue forward, which was difficult as his jaw was frozen and then he started panting and foaming at the mouth. When he came out of it, he was so agitated and crying, i just put him in the car with my daughter and went to the emergency vet.

His blood tests came back clear and we can only wait and see if this was a one off or the first of many. He's always had a lot wrong with him but nothing a vet could help with.

Oh no,Poor Dane, hope it was just a one-off. Must have been very scary for you as well as him. Hope he is calmer now and feeling better.
He's asleep most of the time today. He seems quite calm. I just hope it never happens when one of us isn't in the room with him. he tends to want to be next to us anyway.
That's understandable. He needs the reassurance of someone by him when he's frightened. Humans are the same.
He's always that way though. He avoids non family or if he doesn't know someone in the house, he'll put himself away but, apart from that, he likes to be almost touching most of the time.
Sorry to hear about Dane.....hope it isn't repeated. TLC may do the trick, let's hope so.

When I was a child, we had a dog which had fits in hot weather. We had an old jacket of my Dad's which we used to cover his head and hold him down to prevent him galloping blindly around the garden, so he didn't hurt himself. The vet gave him tablets of some kind but

I can't remember what they were. Hope Dane is back to himself today. Bet he spent the night in your bedroom!

He spent the night going around the house. As it went dark,he seemed terrified that it may happen again. I hope he's better tonight. he's eating normally which is one good thing. In this type of fit he isn't capable of standing, never mind running. It was him stopping breathing which really worried me. He's a dog not a man but it really reminded me of my father-in-law's passing.

You must be kept busy with a dog and a horse to care for....or does daughter look after the horse. When my daughters had pets,

when the novelty wore off it was Mum left to do the chores.
