Hope Dane's feeling more like himself today. I hated when any of my dogs were ill. I had the same concern I'd have when my son or parents were ill.

I'm stuck in today waiting for a plumber.

I had the emergency plumber out on Saturday because a pipe connection had broken and my downstairs neighbour's wall was soaked. I knew nothing about it until she phoned me up to tell me, because the pipes are boxed in and it was a waste pipe, so the taps seemed to be working normally.

Now I've got a drip coming down the pipe from the hot tap on the wash hand basin. It's all swaddled up in towels and there are also towels on the floor to try to prevent any further damage to downstairs.

Did we have leaking pipes for disasters? Bramley, the horse is stabled at the Polo club - so no looking after needed.

Sorry you've been in the wars, BT.

Went out to lunch with Hubby today......feel as if I'll never need feeding for a week. Lovely meal.

It is so nice to just be able to go out. We usually just go down to Nero's but it is lovely.
Make the most of it. Employment looms (you hope).

Well, the sun is shining, but it has an uphill job to dry out the garden. I still have some bulbs and pansies to plant, but I can't work in

a sea of mud. I suppose I could always plant rice.

I have to stick to plain fare this week. With my sister here last week, we barely ate in, other than breakfast. It was really great having her here - a week is such a short time.

The plumber's beavering away in the bathroom. He's already made one suggestion which will make future crises less worrying - he's fitted me a shut-off valve for my hot water that I can use with ease. Beforehand the valve was in the loft which I can't access. Such a simple thing.

Well, as long as the shut off doesn't break. Nothing like being positive is there? I'm glad you both enjoyed the week. Plain fare is really nice sometimes. I've just had a bowl of parsnip soup with a lovely, fresh, sesame seeded bagget (bsgget looks com pletely wrong but, I know, you'll all know what I mean)

I must take the dogs out then sort out all the website details for our business before we fly in the morning.

...catch you in a bit

Have a good time. Spam, even if there is some work included (you are going to Florida, I take it)

What's it like in Florida at this time of year? I've only ever been in Spring or Summer.

Ah, but doesn't BT have to be away as well?
One away is more likely than neither away. Anyway, we just have to hope and we can blame BT for not having her holiday at the same time as Spam - or Spam for having it a week late.
You could return to the 'plain fare' .........bread and cheese?
