BT ...so sorry to hear about your friend. I hope you are able to visit, though I suspect the patient may be heavily sedated. I know this sounds unfeeling, but in the circumstances you can only pray for a swift and painless end for your friend. Such a painful illness. I hope

all her family are able to be there. I feel for them and for you, and of course for your friend.

I'm sorry to hear the sad news......Nina's and BT's

I hope you manage to visit your friend o Monday BT, what shattering news

Nina how's your daughter?

She had a triple bypass earlier this year. I suspect she may have known since then and not told a soul, not even her daughters.

It's awful waiting for the end when all you really want to do is hang on to your loved one, isn't it?

I'm just waiting for Stephen to stop messing with the airconditioning so we can go out for breakfast.

We were so tired after the extremely slow journey home from seeing the shuttle launch that I just popped into the 7/11 for milk and juice.

I messed up my photos on the launch and only got the start but if they look alright I'll post on the Interchange thread

That'll be nice.

BT, even if she's sedated go. The last 10 days my friend lived, she was. We felt she knew we were there each day and we carried on laughing and joking. When she died, she smiled. About 30 mins later the ones still there felt she had completely gone. The smile stayed. It gave us comfort and it meant that she knew she was never alone. I think the feelings of caring somehow make it through.

God, Meg, now you have upset me. Still too raw to talk about.

So sorry to hear about your friend BT. Such a shock. Death is never easy but all you can hope is that it's peaceful and they don't suffer too much pain.

My daughter is fine, her nose didn't even hurt afterwards.

I take it it was because of nose bleeds? My son had those badly as well. I used to get phone calls from work telling me to comer as he was bleeding to death. 30 minsof cycling later, he'd have been dead. I told them that if it were that bad and lasted more than 5 mins, call am ambulance. Luckily, he almost grew out of them.

Someone I know had cauterisation many years ago, and said the worst thing was the smell of burning.

Glad your daughter took it in her stride, Nina.

I should be thinking about our meal - and popping to the shops if I'm short of anything.

I've prepared all the vegetables but it's a bit early yet to put them on. We've been in the garden most of the day planting

pansies and wallflowers.

It started a light drizzle here not long after lunch. I looked like a drowned rat when I go back from walking the dog - but I wouldn't have thought it was heavy enough to soad anything.
It poured with rain here - all through the funeral. We got wet, cold and very muddy
Somehow it seems more fitting than a beautiful day. I hope you were wearing your thermals. When my Dad died it was beautiful everyone seemed so happy and the kids were out playing and rain would have felt better.

The day of my dad's funeral it was a good day and as we went down the prom the sea was in as flat as a pancake and the view across the bay was fabulous, it was all very peaceful and dad would have loved it.

as for what I should be doing....I'm waiting to go in the pool.

Stephen has been busy all day building his screen round the front door.

I've had to dash to the diy shop several times for extra bits.

I've washed all the duvets and blankets, just airing them outside...but it's starting to drop dark so I'd better gather them in.

Our neighbours have invited us round for drinks at 7:30pm

At my mother-in-law's funeral (exactly 3 years ago), the sky was blue and the sun shone, which seemed fitting for her. She never liked going out in the rain.
I just thought nature should cry with us. I never thought he'd die. Mid 50's was just too young and he deserved to have a better life.
