Pubs can be handy things.

That's one English influence I really appreciate. Pubs in Scotland have become much more pleasant especially after the smoking ban.

I don't mind having a pub meal now. It used to irritate me when someone behind me would light up while I was eating.

Much better now you don't come out with clothes and hair reeking of smoke.

I had a very weird dream last night - can't remember all of it but something to do with a doll-sized old lady who couldn't stay sitting up in her hospital chair. She kept slipping down, despite being strapped in. Then her body seemed to split in two and a black straw figure emerged from inside.

There are lots of things I should be doing right now but instead I'm doing nothing much on the computer.

me...weird! beats being normal.

the book award went very well thanks 250 teenagers with teachers. They seemed to enjoy themselves, especially questions to the author. the Mayor was there as well. I think she enjoyed it.

Thankfully, I didn't forget anything. Relieved it's over for another year.
I should definately be up - and on my way to put Dad's prescriptions in. Ours seems to be the only surgery where you can't telephone repeat prescriptions in, which is a nightmare when I can't get cover to go and do it.
Sounds a good idea, Spam. Not another holiday BT. I've just got back from a 'quick' trip to the shops with my Mum. She's recovering and I've decided I'd have been better as a donkey than a person. She only wanted one thing.

I'm only away for a week.

I'm as guilty as your Mum. I went into Asda for cat food, spent £18 and was packing the car when I realised I hadn't got the cat food and had to go back in for it.

But at least you carry it.

I'm away this weekend as well. I get a weekend break at one of these luxury health places. They have food and wine, so I should be OK.

I'm wondering about taking the dog for his walk. We've just had a thunder storm and I think he's forgotten about them. He spent the time it was going over under me and is now hiding. It doesn't look like another one is coming but he's hard to convince.
