An Instant Classic?

Quote from teletext...

"I agree with Earls' 6/10 rating for Fleet Foxes. They're brilliant live, an easy 9/10. For some reason, though, the album is lacklustre and doesn't do them justice. By contrast, their touring partners Beach House didn't come over so well on stage, but their album is much better than Foxes". DJ Gordy

think maybe this might be nearer the point as some things i've heard from them has been boring and other things wonderful - but obv both were detected from the album sequence and randomly put on the radio and on free cds so can't give a true description of the album as i wont get it till its in the sale...

this album's truly fantastic..... reminds me a little of Midlake, another band I really love.
Mykonos is rather beautiful. Like Love...

????

Love a song, or do you just like getting jiggy with it

or ya mean Love as in Arthur Lee???

(also think that some Yeasayer stuff like Wait for the Summer has that kinda 60ish trippy Love vibe as well)

I like them a lot and have done since the 'Sun Giant' EP.

The only quip I have with the album is that it all blends into one for me. Though that isn't all too bad really as it blends quite nicely!

I picked the album up at Borders for £7.99 yesterday.

I think it is a great baroque harmonic choral pop album evoking memories of Crosby Stills Nash & Young, and late 1960s/early 1970s Beach Boys & The Band.

The only drawback is that it does lack a bit of diversity. But when it is this good who really cares.

Overrated TBH. It's really good but definitely not top 10 worthy imo.
