I came across this the other day. It is what "Hero" may have sounded something like in pre-1999 Eurovision...in the days of the orchestra!!

 

her vocals are incredibly weak in that performance especially at the start...

 

in the Schlager heavy days of the late 1990s Eurovision, this would have almost certainly come top 5 at least

Does anyone have Charlotte's 'Hero' album? It's really quite great, if you liked Hero anyway.

 

I think her vocals are fine in this video - definitely better towards the end than the start, but still good. Especially considering how difficult some of those notes are to hit, and sustain.

 

Still my fave song from the contest this year, and, you're right, would definitely have come top 5 (top 3?) in the late 90's. Even though I love her sound, I can see why people think of Charlotte's sound as a little bit dated, rather than the throwback I think it's intended to be.

I downloaded the album but didn't think much of it really...the songs are predictable and the production is weak

 

apart from Hero and Bullet which are excellent

It seems Charlotte will be Nilsson again, as she's separating from her husband.

I'm sure she was at a wedding I was at the other day - someone walked past me and the resemblance was uncanny!!

The vocal is very weak and whats even worse are the terrible backing singers that begin their wailing at 1:34...YIKES!

 

But yes...a good song nevertheless...she sounded way better on the final.
