ok... they arnt all pure brass, by a long way, but heres my album of tracks that feature brass!

Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass - The Lonley Bull ... mentioned it before, but i like this mexican sounding rather poignant track, glamorising bullfighting, but for me catching the mood well.

Johnny Dankworth - African Waltz ... another early 60's 'emotive' track which for me feels like a safari ...lol.. the sound fits the tracks title.

Neil Diamond - Solitary man ... imho his best, another from 66, should have been huge but failed to chart. still the first ? (only?) track to feature a 'brass break' in the middle 8. could have bee a yorkshire track!

Chicago - 25 or 6 to 4 '' in their jazz days long before they went 'soft'. a great track.

Cliff Bennet and the Rebel Rousers - Got to get you into my life .. featured also on my 66 album (as did neil d), sorry but the use of brass in this track gives it the oomph that the original lacks.

Dexys Midnight Runners - Dance Stance ... coulda picked geno, or there there my dear.. but this just edges it as my fav dmr track, their first and minor hit in jan 80.

Spandau Ballet - Chant #1 (i dont need this pressure on) ... complying with the jazz funk scene of the early 80's these pop chameleons were now entering their 'funk' phase...lol.. well thats what hadley called it!

Phil Collins - Sussudeo ... ok i know phil collins is often thought of as a dirty word, but i like this track so :P . i like the use of brass in the backing.

Madness - Night boat to Ciaro (oddly enough thats exactly what clares been on!!! ) one of their best imho.

Haircut 100 - Favorite Shirts (boy meets girl) ..... good track...?

thatll do for now, i might add more later.

I thought you might include this one - Peter Skellern with the Grimethorpe Colliery Band.

awww noooo waaayyy... it doesnt float my boat.

That is a pretty good album selection Rob. No point me doing an Album on this as I could easily duplicate most of your selections.

The one Phil Collins related track I'd go for would be:

Genesis - No Reply At All

Probably the track that most comes to mind, that you've omitted is...

Average White Band - Pick Up The Pieces
