There are quite a few songs I loathed when I first heard them (and long afterwards thanks to them being flogged to death) but strangely I love them now:

Eminem - My Name Is I hated this at first, but then I wasn't a big fan of hip hop. Me and my best mate went on holiday in '99 and he played this at every opportunity which drove me mad. But after listening to the lyrics and hearing it even more often, it grew on me and I adore it now

Queen - Radio Ga Ga Again it was because of my next door neighbour that I hated this. He was a massive Queen fan, but I was only 7 at the time and prefered Brother Beyond  Now, I love it. It's probably one of my favourites of theirs.

Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb My neighbour again. I couldn't understand the appeal of this at all, but again, it grew on me. I, controversially, prefer the Scissor Sisters version though

Chemical Brothers - Setting Sun Can't believe I ever hated this, but I did back in 1996. I have no idea why, as I adore this now. I think it's the best thing Noel Gallagher's been involved with

Righteous Brothers - Unchained Melody I vaguely remember hating this when the re-issue (thanks to its inclusion in Ghost) came out in '90. I wasn't alone, I remember virtually every kid in my class detested it too. Think we all prefered Turtle Power  Ah, the folly of youth....

Prodigy - Everybody In The Place/Firestarter Again, I can't quite believe I ever hated these. I couldn't see the point in "all that noise". I remember in '92 I hated Sesame's Treet equally (which I still can't stand  ) but The Prodigy are one of my favourite bands now. Still love it when these, or Smack My b**ch Up, comes on in a club.

i didnt like the walkers brothers in the 60's, but now LOVE them!

in the 80's hated the smiths, in the 90's got to like them, now hate them even more.

loved abba when they were together but now they are more famous being split and what is the point of Mamma Mia

Rolf Harris - Two Little Boys (1969)

When I was young I thought it was just an annoying novelty song with corny lyrics, but as I've got older I've appreciated its meaning.
