October 20, 201113 yr Had you read a few posts above yours, you'd see that I've mentioned there will be a 5th (and probably the last) series. :) I don't read things
October 28, 201113 yr Does anyone know where I can get the Appreciation Index scores for every Merlin episode since the beginning?
November 10, 201113 yr This session has been alright. Didn't expect Uther's death. Really loving Morgana as a baddie, she totally rocks the psycho look so well
November 14, 201113 yr Episode 7 was fantastic. Richard Wilson stole the show! Such a brilliant actor! Series 4 is already my favourite Merlin season and one of my favourite British TV seasons!
December 12, 201113 yr Am I the only one still watching this :( No you're not, this series if absolutely fantastic! :w00t:
December 12, 201113 yr Author Am I the only one still watching this :( No you are not, but I'm a few episodes behind, I need to play catch up.
December 12, 201113 yr I'm a bit behind, but this series has still been great, its just a shame it doesn't get more attention :(
December 12, 201113 yr I am right up-to-date. Isn't the final episode essentially the same thing AGAIN as per every final episode of the series. Need to freshen things up. Katie McGrath continues to be the shining light of this series. Her portrayal of Morgana is SUBLIME. I want more magin from Merlin, more plot development all around and less in the way of this 'bant0r' 'comedy' 'bollox' from Arthur and Merlin that they continue to push on us. The character of Gwen and Angel Coulby as an actress have both really come into their own this series. I imagine the writers have even BIGGER plans for her next series...
December 13, 201113 yr I am right up-to-date. Isn't the final episode essentially the same thing AGAIN as per every final episode of the series. Need to freshen things up. I know it's silly the storylines change but there always a war waged against Camelot, Arthur and Merlin escape and then have to retake the castle. I love the series but it's a bit repetitive.
October 28, 201212 yr So, series 5 has been decent so far, I agree with the comments above and I hope they change it up a little bit this year, plus I'm dying from anticipation for news over a next series! Last night's episode was very interesting. At some point Gaius casts a spell to save Merlin and then he says 'Don't make me do that again, I'm not sure my heart can take it.' I'll take it as a hint that we will finally see Gaius die this time.
November 26, 201212 yr Author http://www.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/20489859 Merlin axed No surprise there, they were intended to end the series after Series 5. My Sci Fi mag has some details about a movie trilogy to follow after the series.
November 26, 201212 yr I am sad but at the same time, quite satisfied - I love the show, and its one of the few TV programmes I can be arsed to always go on Iplayer to watch, but I do feel that its becoming a little bit samey, and most of the episodes this series have been quite predictable (bar the excellent Uther & Mordred focused episodes), plus this show has been SCREAMING for a mega climax since it started, so that should be something to look forward to.
December 25, 201212 yr I'll pretend that the last scene never happened. In fact the finale had its moments but I didn't like it as a whole. It stalled a lot, yet it felt so rushed.
December 25, 201212 yr ^Yeah, whilst I did like the fact they stuck to the legend and the reveal and tragic words were handled very well, but this show has been constantly building up to a mega finale and that just felt like a damp squib in all honesty :( Morgana and Morgose were dispatched far too quickly, nowhere near used enough to the extent they could've been. As for that final scene, I don't think any words are needed, just far too vague and really pointless. That aside, I'm so sad it's over, my favourite tv show of recent years. It will be missed :(
December 25, 201212 yr Author The reason it was rushed because they thought the series will get picked up for 6th season, so they had to re-script, the last two episodes. It so happens it was mentioned in my sci fi mag there is plans for a three part movie, but on the outcome of the finale I don't know if that will come to fruition. The only thiing the dragon at the end did mention Arthur will live again, so there's hope for some movies to come off but I'm just not too sure. And the end bit of the finale, I'd rather block that from my memory.
