July 11, 200817 yr Thanks Sunday for the gorgeous pix and both you and Suggy for your reports. I don't think the bad sound problems are confined to festival gigs. We couldn't hesr him properly at the Royal Festival Hall (pre-refurb of their acoustics) and our evening was spoilt a bit by the really loud bass (teeth rattling) sound at Wembley on the last tour. The band drowned him out on a few songs there . Sorry you lost your coat Suggy - have you been in touch with them - you may not have been the only one with lost property.
July 11, 200817 yr Thanks munchkin but no, I've not been in touch with them about my coat, it probably got trampled underfoot and then thrown out with all the tons of rubbish from the festival.
July 11, 200817 yr Thanks for your report suggy. My mouth was watering when I came to the lobster, king prawn bit. http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/eatdrink020.gif I absolutely adore seafood. Sorry about your coat, but so pleased you enjoyed the evening. I wonder why the sound people can never get it right - they're supposed to be professional and know exactly what's what. I would have demanded part of my money back. Edited July 11, 200817 yr by chrysalis
July 11, 200817 yr Helloooo peeps I'm back! :dancing: I had a most wonderful day yesterday at Chiswick and yes the sound for a few of the acts including Will was pretty bad, but overall it didn't spoil my enjoyment to the point where I was disappointed, as I was with a great bunch of people, including young teenage girls and devotees and we were soooo near to the front with Will directly in front of me, smiling, waving and looking drop dead gorgeous.http://www.smilies-and-more.com/pics/kolobok/he_and_she/girl_in_love.gif http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y208/sunday20/IMG_0372.jpg First of all I'd like to say that Goldfrapp were absolutely bloody dreadful and I was most disappointed with them, she didn't look like she even wanted to be there, Jo Wiley introduced them saying they would "become your new favourite band", I don't think so! Sophie Ellis Bexter was ok as well and she's so pretty and petite, :D I have to say that Sugababes got the best reception of the night and they were really good, mainly due to the fact that they sang all their fast and bouncy single hits which got all the crowd singing along, you couldn't really hear their voices though, it was the music that won through. The food was absolutely sublime and I think I must have eaten half my body weight in Bream, Lobster, Tuna steaks and King Prawns. http://www.smilies-and-more.com/pics/kolobok/he_and_she/girl_prepare_fish.gif Sunday was not impressed with the "goodies" on my plate,http://www.smilies-and-more.com/pics/kolobok/he_and_she/girl_hide.gifhttp://www.smilies-and-more.com/pics/kolobok/he_and_she/girl_haha.gifThe weather was lovely, warm and sunny most of the time and me and sunday had a couple of the cocktails, I also had a coffee and 2 teas, we went to get a tray full of the fancy little buns and cakes to take home with us after Will had been on but they'd all gone. Anyway back to Will's set, he came on to a fantastic reception from the crowd and started with Very Kind, although it took me a few minutes to realise what it was, as it was re-worked and more upbeat, I loved it. B) He then sang Changes which I think is going to sound awesome on the recorded version, next came a good version of Your Game at which point I realised that if I stuck both my fingers against my ears, I could cut the bass down and hear Will's voice a lot better. It was a shame about the heavy bass but I think it would have sounded perfectly fine further back, hopefully it'll be sorted out for the theatre tour, I'm sure it will be. He then sang Grace and Help Me and I liked both of those, I was hoping for Disconnected as well as I love that one and it's more upbeat but he didn't and he finished with LRN which had the whole crowd singing along and it was great to hear. :yahoo: I think maybe he should have sang more sing -along songs at this particular event instead of his new stuff? He still got a fantastic response though and you could definitely "feel the love" for Will from the rest of the crowd as well. I think he's starting to become a sort of national treasure. I'd just like to say that the band and backing singers were all chuffed as mintballs, when Will introduced them all individually to the crowd and they got loud cheers, they were very very good and the lead guitarist was really into it and very happy and smiley and the rest all seemed to know what Will wanted straightaway, I think they're going to be very popular. Just adding that I left my blue regatta coat, all neatly folded and placed directly in front of the middle of the stage. :drama: I have just enjoyed re-reading your detailed report suggy - love it, so many positives in there! Sounds like you got your moneys-worth in various ways! Have you contacted them to see if your jacket can be found..?
