Posted July 9, 200817 yr GI Elvis at Madame Tussaud Berlin http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y48/elvis1959/BERLIN.jpg Madame Tussauds wax museum opened and eight location in Berlin, Germany earlier this week. One of the most popular statues is that of Elvis. After London (68 Special), Las Vegas (68 Special en Vegas Elvis), Amsterdam (50s Elvis) and Hong Kong (50s Elvis), there now is a portrait of a Elvis during his army years. No better place for this premiere than in this museum in Germany! The looks and realism of this statue is one of the best in Tussauds collection. In the spring of 2009, a ninth location will open in Hollywood. No doubt that they will also have an Elvis version, it’s going to be a surprise what version that is going to be! July 10, 200817 yr Oh wow, what a likeness, they have done a fantastic job, nice one Madame Tussauds, great job
July 10, 200817 yr An excellent likeness better than the one that used to be (maybe still is) in the rock n roll tussauds in Piccadilly. There were 3 pianos on a turntable Stevie Wonder, Elton John and Little Richard and every few minutes rising up from the middle to the strains of American Triolgy was our boy. It was a good experience you were given earphones to wear at the start and whatever artist/dummy you looked at the earphones picked it up. Here's Elton and Stevie http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p217/lonesome_cowboy/scan0001-1.jpg Little Richard (foreground out shone by Elvis http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p217/lonesome_cowboy/scan0002-2.jpg Elvis and Stevie http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p217/lonesome_cowboy/scan0003.jpg Chuck Berry Sam Cooke http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p217/lonesome_cowboy/scan0004.jpg The 'orrible 'OO http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p217/lonesome_cowboy/scan0005.jpg Johnny Rotten http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p217/lonesome_cowboy/scan0006.jpg Bob Marley http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p217/lonesome_cowboy/scan0007.jpg The Glimmer Twins http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p217/lonesome_cowboy/scan0008.jpg Edited July 10, 200817 yr by lonesome cowboy
July 10, 200817 yr Author Great pics, Martin, thanks for posting them Elvis looked good in the first one, but close up, not a great likeness although Chuck Berry doesn't look too bad at all. Tussauds in Berlin have definately produced a winner in our man this time :cheer:
