Posted July 10, 200817 yr There's loads floating around SayHey at the moment about this - people seem to be thinking Kylie has left EMI. There's a bloody massive thread but I've found this information from the more reliable insiders: *The relationship between Kylie and EMI pretty much broke down last year *The reason she hasn't promoted Wow in Europe at all, or IMA/The One in the UK, is that she knows she's leaving after the tour *Apparently Kylie herself was involved in deciding not to give The One a physical release, because she wasn't willing to work for EMI *She's said to be moving to Polydor, a subsidary of Universal, and it'll be announced after X2008 is over. Other Polydor acts include Girls Aloud, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, The Saturdays, Maey J Blige, Gwen Stefani, Scissor Sisters and more. Obviously this is all speculation and there's no way of knowing who's info is accurate, but it is looking pretty likely...
July 10, 200817 yr I hope she is leaving EMI. They have messed up very badly with X. The singles were released in the wrong order and the album wasnt upto scratch.
July 10, 200817 yr if all the rumours are true i dont understand why kylie wud want the one to flop as at the end of the day it goes down on her own chart career surely like the fans kylie wud like to keep her run of top 10 hits going even for herself? I cant say emi have been terrible kylie has had some amazing success since she joined them if you went back to 1998 how many people had wrote kylie off,yes emi have messed up x but light years and fever were brilliany in terms of music and they brough the success kylie needed again, these albums along with body language have outdone her early run of top 10 hits and through working with emi she has had 3 number 1 singles with cant get you out of my head her biggest hit of her 20 year career and also a 4 top 5 studio albums agin with fever almost equalling her biggest album of her career Edited July 10, 200817 yr by X=The-One
July 10, 200817 yr Author I doubt Kylie is overly bothered about the run of top 10s...it's my personal opinion that she isn't 100% passionate about music, or certainly not about the recording of it/the success it has. To me Kylie seems to live for touring; she could probably chart outside of the Top 40 and not care as long as she could still sell out arenas.
July 10, 200817 yr If there is any truth in these rumours, then I respect her decision. If she is so intent on leaving after X is done with though, she could have just given 'The One' a proper release to round it all off as the fans clearly want it.
July 10, 200817 yr I have to admit, Kylie doesn't seem to have been 100% behind X has she? Remember when she had Fever she was doing loads of promoting and doing performances here there and everywhere. I know she's on tour at the moment, but apart from the Kylie show what else has she done? Even the videos to Wow and IMA were poor for Kylies standards. I really do hope this leaving EMI is true, i'd love a fresh start. Loads of other artists have critisised EMI recently, and i read somewhere the Kylie herself said there was lots a changing going on there at the moment. It's like a sinking ship. July 10, 200817 yr AFTER fever kylie said she was cutting back on promo to have more time, but since she returned with X its her first album promotion since beating cancer so its understandable she isnt out promoting as much
July 10, 200817 yr kylie does not care about chart positions she cares about making music and touring. a move to Polydor would be good as other acts seem to have th same sort of genre as kylie so the music and promo should improve. as long as she is happy
July 10, 200817 yr I hope she does leave EMI, if only for a fresh perspective on Kylie from a new label!
July 10, 200817 yr well i think for every artist the live shows are the most important except fot the ones who can't make live shows.....which are 99% of the current music artists....
July 10, 200817 yr Not releasing 'Like a drug' as the first single from 'X' was a crime against humanity!!!!!! and not promoting 'In My arms' or 'Wow' was a real shame, they could've been massive number 1's....
July 10, 200817 yr Even the videos to Wow and IMA were poor for Kylies standards. I was quite satisfied with them, at least they were better than the '2 Hearts' video where she looked about 20 years older than she actually is.
July 10, 200817 yr Author The budget for her videos has clearly been tiny this time around; she p!ssed it all away in the studio!
July 10, 200817 yr why did this album cost so much, for an album that was so expensive it come accross as her most expensive
