Posted June 1, 200619 yr After all the recent revelations about him, is he an asset or a liability to New labour. He doesn't seem to have much of a job but keeps his salary and his cars, houses(well minus 1  ) and his seat in the Cabinet. Is his boss making a mistake keeping him or would he be making a mistake by ditching him. Any views
June 1, 200619 yr I believe MP get money until they die. For example Tony Blair will continue getting his current salary after he is no longer PM and after he has retired. That way he has no reason to sort out the pension crisis.
June 1, 200619 yr he should go - but he's undignified enough to wait til he's thrown out before he leaves of his own accord.
June 2, 200619 yr ....... he was ridiculed by spitting image 20 years ago as being loutish... he might be quite clever, good policy maker maybe... but he aint a statesman. time to go.
June 2, 200619 yr I'm kinda sick of the way that Prescott plays the "Working Class lad made good" card really, how many genuine working class people have these sorts of perks, grace and favour homes and two jags that comes with his job...? Mind you, what job? What does Prescott actually do now that he's had the powers of his office effectively stripped from him? The only thing he seems to be doing is play croquet on the lawn of some posh looking mansion - oh yeah, very Working Class...... <_<

June 6, 200619 yr What does 2 Jags actually do in government? I know he runs this thing called 'The Office of the Deputy Prime Minister' but what does it do? There was never one of those till JonnyBoy arrived on the scene. Is it a made up job?
