Posted June 2, 200619 yr Elvis Story show, approved by Elvis Presley Enterprises, that was heading for a European tour starting december 2006, has been cancelled. No reason has been given yet for this cancellation.Source: The United Elvis Presley Society / Updated: Jun 2, 2006
June 2, 200619 yr I hadn't heard about this one  That's a shame, though, wonder if it will be rescheduled for a later date :)
June 2, 200619 yr What was this, like a whistlestop tour through the life and times of Elvis? Who would they get to play the man himself? I would love Darius to do that, but I don't think it will ever happen :( Oh well, I can dream anyway :D
June 2, 200619 yr I'm not too sure about this show, BP as it was news to me  It would be a difficult job finding someone to be Elvis, although the guy I saw in 'This Is Elvis' recently, did a fantastic job  His name was Simon Bowman and he had already played Elvis before, some years ago in 'Are You Lonesome Tonight'
June 3, 200619 yr I'm not too sure about this show, BP as it was news to me  It would be a difficult job finding someone to be Elvis, although the guy I saw in 'This Is Elvis' recently, did a fantastic job  His name was Simon Bowman and he had already played Elvis before, some years ago in 'Are You Lonesome Tonight' I suppose the thought of combining my love of Elvis song with my favourite artist, is a dream too far :( But at least Darius is briefly re-appearing as Billy Flynn in the West End, so I can nip and see him soon
June 3, 200619 yr I really liked Darius on Pop Idol :D I shall have to listen out for him ;) Bet you can't wait to see him - just wish we could see Elvis in the flesh
June 3, 200619 yr I really liked Darius on Pop Idol :D I shall have to listen out for him ;) Bet you can't wait to see him - just wish we could see Elvis in the flesh  It really is a tradgedy he was taken so young  I think even worse is the fact that there wasn't anyone really caring for him in his later years, who could have stopped his downward spiral :( I have just watched Unchained Melody from the 77 concert 6 weeks before his death, and it upset me quite a bit to see him sing it this way. I did catch a few other songs from the start of that show, and they seemed much stronger vocally. At least there is a massive legacy of albums, photos, and footage for us to remember him by :) But nothing could have compared with actually seeing him sing live :(
June 3, 200619 yr It certainly is a tragedy that we lost Elvis at such a young age. There were so many factors involved and we all wish that we could turn back the clock and get him the help he needed. I, too, find it hard to watch the CBS Special 'Elvis In Concert' although, as you say, his voice was still amazing, despite everything he was going through. Thankfully, he left us a legacy of some wonderful music, that people will be listening to for generations to come. As they say 'ELVIS LIVES'
June 4, 200619 yr I watched that show, the last one he did, I couldn't see it through, it broke my heart to see him like that. I sometimes think that 'stars' such as Elvis had to leave us early, I don't know why, I just do, just like Marilyn and James Dean and how ironic it was to be the same age as his beloved mother. :(

June 4, 200619 yr :o Was his mother only 42 when she died? No, actually she was 46 when she died in August 1958. The reason a lot of people think she was 42 is that she was 4 years older than Vernon when they married and she fibbed about her age ;) She was born in 1912. Still very young, just like her son :(
June 6, 200619 yr Hi . I have also been trying to find "The Elvis Story Show", and ive found 2 performances only.
