I like that song, Black and gold. Quite catchy.

And fair enough about mcfly.

But I wouldn't go as far as too judge them(Danny, Tom, Dougie, Harry) for the way they are selling their single. I'd blame the marketing team.

But it's over and done with now so yeah.

I'm having a hard time listening to the chart every Sunday, I'm beginning to lose interest in the charts, I'm so bored with it at the moment, it seems so lifeless, it needs a bomb. -_-
Sam Sparro...now a baleted big hit in his own country Australia ----funky as hell!
I think its because their record company feel the need (obv) to cash-in the best way they can through marketing to kids, which makes sense because they want money.

It's just not really seen as fair play, pushing thegroup to the top with low first-week sales and then they drop out the chart 3/4 weeks later. Via that method, the #1 doesn't really seem to have been worthy.

But McFly can only do what their record company do with them, its not their decision.

Their music is c**p aswell.

The free album today sounded different

all the songs sound mature and different to anything they have done.

I understand people won't listen to the album because it's Mcfly

but ithink given time with the next few singles Mcfly will selll more all round and won't need txt downloads offers ect.

btw Mcfly are on their own label

hence the fact they gave away a free album something they couldn't do with island

See, this is what I was saying in the iTunes topic earlier and I had people coming at me as if I was talking about some alien concept.

Yeah me too. In the past 3 weeks i've stopped listening to it. I decided to tune in this week but I couldnt even care that I missed the bottom 20 of the top40, i'm just not bothered anymore. And judging by the top20 I wont be listening for much longer :arrr:

Duffy again

And I agree (whoever it said) that Distant Dreamer is a classy track!

I've started to listen to the charts (US, UK, Germany) in the end of the 80s and tbh at that time the charts were slow moving too. It is just the diversity of the different charts I like.

I'm completely on your side. I think what they're saying is true though, people buy what they hear and like, which shows whats the root of the problem - commercial radio. They rarely support new music, and keep playing the same hits for months on end.

Salford boy/girl garage pop duo, Jules de Martino & Katie White were amongst the front runners in the BBC's 'Sound for 2008' poll. The Tings Tings were the hottest ticket in their (home)town û their house parties at their Islington Mill apartment the place to be. It wasn't long before record companies were alerted and also attending, the duo subsequently signed a deal with SonyBMG. - HMV

this is VERY true!!!!

There definitely needs to be some sort of shake up somewhere along the line.

The problem is, commercial radio stations are really arrogant and when people suggest they play newer stuff, they give a smug reply like "if people had a problem they wouldn't listen". So it's a bit of a vicious circle... :(
