July 20, 200817 yr Author I'm completely on your side. I think what they're saying is true though, people buy what they hear and like, which shows whats the root of the problem - commercial radio. They rarely support new music, and keep playing the same hits for months on end. There's hardly been that many new releases, I look at the single release schedule every week, and comparing it to last year, new releases seem to be very low this year

July 20, 200817 yr There definitely needs to be some sort of shake up somewhere along the line. The problem is, commercial radio stations are really arrogant and when people suggest they play newer stuff, they give a smug reply like "if people had a problem they wouldn't listen". So it's a bit of a vicious circle... :( Well something was different between 1995 and 2004 that made the charts a lot faster.

I think there'll be less and less hits cos artists will be less inclined to release as there's a small chance of them having hits

I would hate it if people pushed me into listening to someone. I am just going to say this now, if you don't like mcfly, hi 5 to you, if you like them, hi 5 to you as well.
