Anthony Kiedis RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS are trying to steal U2’s crown as the biggest band in the world. The American band kicked off their European tour in Barcelona on Wednesday night and showed they have one of the best stadium shows on the planet. They will arrive in the UK later this month and I predict their sell-out dates will be the musical highlight of the British summer. The Californian fourpiece don´t need costume changes, dancers and stunts to make a thrilling show. The songs and performance are red hot enough. http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e272/handsomeman/e2f8e8c9.jpg Set list ... handwritten note ANTHONY KIEDIS, FLEA, JOHN FRUSCIANTE and CHAD SMITH took over Barcelona’s colossal Palau San Jordi and packed it with 90 minutes of hard, funkin’ rock. Within seconds of the opening riff to Can´t Stop, the 15,000 crowd were going wild. The mayhem didn’t stop for a single second until they’d left the stage. The awsome foursome didn’t stop grinning throughout the set ... even when Anthony smashed his head into the bass being played by Flea. The singer was left dripping claret from his skull but didn’t flag a bit – and the energy was infectious. After 24 years the Chilis have proved they are the great survivors. Now they’re enjoying a renaissance just like U2 did with Vertigo. So Bono better watch out. Because the Chilis are closing in fast. Edited June 2, 200619 yr by Scotty.
June 2, 200619 yr Author I doubt they will ever be as big as U2 but they are certainly one of the biggest bands on earth :yahoo:
June 2, 200619 yr Thanks for that. Great post :D To be honest both have proved their stickabilty and longevity all around the world and I can't see either of them coming to an end just yet ;) Both will go down in history and they're personally two of my favourite bands as well.
June 2, 200619 yr I doubt they will ever be as big as U2 but they are certainly one of the biggest bands on earth :yahoo: Got to agree with you there Scotty. The Chills and U2 are on a par IMO, but the thing that gives U2 the edge (how cornet does that sound) is Bono. If You ask somebody to say who do you know more about: Bono or Anthony Keidis, then in the most cases its gonna be Bono becuase of Live Aid etc, but the Chillis are one of the biggest bands on the earth though as well.
