amazing cover apart from the way heavy rotation is, the hair or the white scar.

It's like that because it's 'rotating'. :heehee:

LATEST REVIEW, quite mixed;

Anastacia: Heavy Rotation

Industry insiders were treated to a champagne soaked playback of Anastacia's latest album in London

A lot has happened in Anastacia's life over the last few years. She's got married, survived breast cancer and admitted that she's a couple of years older than some might had previously been led to believe.

A bunch of industry types assemble for a playback of her new album in a small central London club. Eager to hear what the singer would return with after what seems like a lengthy lay off, the crowd enjoy a few after work glasses of champagne as the invisible DJ warms up with some familiar tunes before Anastacia and hubby arrive. She gives a brief, thankful introduction and promises she'll be "bugging you all later" before the DJ drops the album.

Ageism certainly isn't a factor here, except that you couldn't imagine a much younger artist performing with such feeling as the blonde soul singer does. The opener, I Can Feel You, is typically classy and, bold as it might be to suggest it, Anastacia's phrasing comes close to the likes of Chaka Khan at some points. The Way I See It is more sixties-influenced and, paradoxically, quite contemporary sounding (Duffy, Amy etc), while Absolutely Positively has a vintage Stevie Wonder-style production (no, really), all clavinet and smooth bass.

It's then brought bang up to date (but not in a necessarily good way) with Defeated, which sounds like the kind of song Rihanna would sing. There's a bit of electro pop, slightly dreary MOR balladry. The chattering and clinking of glasses inside the club seems to get louder at this point but that could simply be the result of too much post-work bubbly (we stuck to orange juice of course).

The album does sound a bit like a box-ticking exercise but the first half in particular is a reminder of what made Anastacia a big name in the first place - namely, that huge voice - and it's well worth a listen.

I don't care about the reviews...I wanna hear it for myself!! :lol:
