I happen to quite like the remixes, I quite like the electronically altered vocals on CB remix but I prefer the Rushes one, but it depends once again on your mood, nice to have three versions of them, acoustic - band and remix though - Better man is one of my favourites and I can listen to it endlessly -

 

The electronic distortion of his voice, is the reason I especially really don't like the 8-Jam CB Remix and it spoils Better Man for me too - it puts me right off listening to it - so we're complete opposites when it comes to the electronic vocals Pip :D

Just thinking now of all the lovely good quality songs we wouldn't have had, if Darius was one of these artists that only put various remixes, other versions of the same song, or stuff that's not as good as b-sides -Darius's b-sides are something I always look forward to - I hope he'll always put new/good songs as extra tracks on his singles - I think we've been spoilt so far :)

 

Although I could hardly remember many of them, I still voted as I was asked to :) I hope my votes don't adversely affect the result :unsure: But the top 8 or so are my top 8 so I did my best :)

 

I couldn't remember a lot of them from just the titles either B.P. - but I went on iTunes and listened to the track clips on there - soon brought back the memories of the songs - I enjoyed doing it that way :D

 

I just had to listen to Kilt With A Fly on .net again. I don't know if Alan and Darius respectively wrote the parts they sing or if they collaborated on the new lyrics but I still think it's brilliant... so funny.

 

Darius is a real sport and I think he gets the sound just right. Also I just adore his laugh throughout. He was obviously having fun.

 

Although I'm not keen on Darius singing covers because it's one less of his own he'll sing at that gig, I'd definitely like to hear him sing American Pie with its original lyrics.

 

Oh I wouldn't like it - I'd be gutted if he didn't sing the alternative Kilt with a fly lyrics - 'cos I just love it that way :lol:

Same for me too. Why would they want to distort D's voice in any way :wacko: It's good we all have different tastes :)

oh I obviously prefer DD's natural voice - pop or jazz - not messed with

I like Darius's voice because there's so much texture to it, it's like an audio chameleon. I like the different inflections to suit the various genres.

 

I haven't heard him sing an out and out dance track, soul or traditional folk song yet but I bet he'd do them justice too.

 

I have enjoyed all the styles that D has sung, he is so versatile I think my favourite is probably acoustic ballad, as his silky voice excites me with it's purity :)
