Edith Bowman interview

http://scotlandonsunday.scotsman.com/spect...t-of.5427782.jp

She feels real unease about attitudes to fame and the whole X Factor phenomenon. "I remember growing up and there being superstars, really great role models, and I think the obsession with celebrity culture has diminished that. People are not known for having a talent. What does fame mean? What are you famous for? What does fame bring you? Lots of questions that people would answer differently."

And you can lose it all in a heartbeat. "The whole Susan Boyle thing – the show chews people up and spits them out and there's no aftercare. And that's the ones we know about. The ones we see have already auditioned six times for production staff before they get to the judges. So they deliberately pick the $h!t ones and encourage them to be $h!ttier. It's so manipulative. It leaves a really bad taste in my mouth. Those shows have provided us with some incredible talents – like Will Young – but let's get back to what it's about: a talent competition."

Thanks Sunday.

Great that she's singled out Will even though she mentions X Factor, would have thought Leona would have come to mind. :D

Come on Guilfest!

We're talking alot about Guilfest now of course on Eagle Radio. Having been a little sluggish in my enthusiasm to start off with, I am now counting the days.

I love this particular weekend, this year is my thirteenth Guilfest! Amongst the headline acts - Brian Wilson, Athlete andWill Young are in my fest-diary! - there are also some little Gems out of the more 200 bands on site. My tips are Draven (on the rockstage), Simon Friend (Levellers) on the 2nd stage and check out Tristan Seume on the acoustic stage - a sublime talent.

We'll all be there over the weekend - so look out for us and give us a wave.

Enjoy!!

Thanks for the updates Sunday.

Seems Will did perform at Goodwood.

Was awoken by a call. Friend was given a single ticket for Festival of Speed. Did I want it? YES PLEASE!! Did some chores and set off at lunchtime on my bike. I can't tell you how amazing this event is, even for a single girl wandering around. So much to see in the most splendid of locations. I made some friends for the afternoon, (see pics) who invited me to stay on for the party (Will Young & fireworks!) in the evening. I had a lovely time. Really lovely. Borrowed "his" pj's for chilly cycle home at 2am.

Thanks to JanetL.

Will is also doing another corporate do for Sky employees on July 17th.

Thanks for all the updates Sunday - just seen that picture posted over on D by Vasil. I bet he was chuffed to meet JK - remember when he dressed as him on PI

Another date: Thanks to Iscagill on D for finding this:

Another Festival for Will on 17 July???

Just found this posted on Adam Wakeham's website

Also keeping busy with Will Young in May and June at the festivals. If you were at / or are going to be at any of the following; the Isle of Wight (june 13th), Glastonbury (June 28th), Goodwood (4th July), Guilfest (12th July), BskyB fest – london (17th July) Audely End (25th July) or Campbefest (26th July) feel free to drop by and say hi.

So does that mean Will did perform at Goodwood yesterday and is also doing something in London on 17 July as the other dates seem correct...

the only link I can find is this one..where he is listed on the Orbit stage. http://www.skyfest.co.uk/London/Friday/Home.aspx

If you hover over and click on the Orbit Stage it gives you the line-up.

And it seems he did perform at Goodwood too:

Thanks munchkin, I don't know what the pluck it's about either, but Will humoured the chicken anyways.

It seems to be a bit like that garden gnome years ago that went all round the world.

Hello...

Thank you for visiting my website

Here are a few quite interesting facts about me

My name is Pluck Wuck

I am a chicken

I hatched in Australia and was adopted by Richard and Linda Barclay

They sent me on holiday to England to stay with one of their friends

and requested frequent photographic evidence of my well being

Their friend never sent me back but did honour the photographic request
