July 29, 200816 yr Oooh! thanks F/G, he looks sooo handsome, anyone think that Mark Frith leaving Heat, is probably the reason for Will "making friends" with Heat? I reckon it has something to do with it - it was Mark who set the ball rolling on the 'feud'. Will's not the sort to hold grudges but he does know how to deal with with people who denigrate him. As Mary on D said - which I totally agree with, could be they want in and some of the action. Hoping perhaps to get some 'real' exclusives with his consent and perhaps to get will's fans back on board. Wonder if they had to draw straws to see who would be the one to make peace  Thanks F/G P.S. Ruthie on D has posted this too in the Spotted page : Will Young clad in white jeans and sniffing scented candles at Selfridges in London. Still loves his candles :D Edited July 29, 200816 yr by munchkin
July 29, 200816 yr Always remember the interview Mark Frith had with the two of them, just before the final. Will ran circles round him and he didn't like it. Frith just wasn't intelligent enough to deal with it, and instead held a grudge. And I see that even in their attempt to "patch up" things they still can't get some things right. They say ".....meet Will........and hear him sing some new songs from his third album......." And why refer to his lisp. Adding to say they can't even get the date of the release of Changes right - they say the 22nd Sept. At least they got the very important date right though - 29th Sept. July 29, 200816 yr Thanks F/G for bringing the pieces over. Lovely pic of Will - I actuially bought Heat to-day - the first time since a long time ago.
July 29, 200816 yr http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i142/nodgersboots/heat0001.jpg  How totally edible does he look in this picture - and no 'fixed' press smile either - happy happy William   http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i142/nodgersboots/Heatfulham.jpg And this puts paid to any sarky remarks about his hair too ... so sucks boo :P (Oh and he doesn't have veneers either. All totally his own well-looked-after teeth.) Edited July 29, 200816 yr by munchkin
July 29, 200816 yr Well I'll hang back from all this "Will love" from Heat for a while longer I think, I've still not forgiven them for quite a few articles they've had in their magazine? over the last 6 or 7 years, like the page on his deminishing sales from Light My Fire compared to Evergreen's and practically saying he was flopping by only selling nearly 200k in the first week, then came the stupid sales graph showing his chart placing for Keep On after just 2 weeks after release, it's a pity they didn't do a follow up chart when he went 3x platinum with it 8 months later. :P Edited July 29, 200816 yr by suki2
July 29, 200816 yr Well .... It gets a bit boring and annoying after a while - even though it doesn't matter what trolls think. :P They just want to get on board the Will Young promo train Suki - probably want exclusives or even an interview - something he's never given them, I believe, since his last one in 2002. Trouble is, we've had some really nice piccies from them :P Edited July 29, 200816 yr by munchkin

July 29, 200816 yr What do you mean munchkin? The 'discussion' on DS about Will's hair after SNP.
July 29, 200816 yr Author Wonder whether he'll give them an interview during this promo. Wouldn't blame him if he didn't. I haven't decided whether to buy this week's copy or just print the page off here. :P Still haven't forgiven them for stirring the *hit over Will's visit to SA
July 29, 200816 yr The 'discussion' on DS about Will's hair after SNP. Ah, I saw it and totally ignored it, can't be arsed with those pesky little fleas on DS, who jump in and out of every thread all day long.
July 30, 200816 yr Author Sue on Devoted has just posted that the dj on Mercia played Changes & said Will as oming in for a chat before V festival. So that's in the next couple of weeks. :) Is Mercia the local station for one of the V festivals?

July 31, 200816 yr Thanks to northernsoul from the o/s for spotting it on the RCA site Will Young Info It is all about the voice and the song. Will Young returns in September with his fourth and strongest album to date, ‘Let It Go’. Perfectly crafted songs, rich contemporary arrangements, that familiar voice to the fore: but sweeter, more intimate and tender than ever before. "I tried to focus on what I do really well,” explains Will. "Last time around I had a film and an album and a tour and it all became a bit of a monster; SUPERWILL - GO!" This time, I wanted to simplify. I concentrated on lyrics, melodies and voices; where the listener feels like they are in the room with the singer, you can really hear every last breath. I made myself stick to that path and it's just been the most pleasurable experience ever. I haven't had one breakdown!" Which is not to suggest there wasn't some turbulence. It wouldn't be soul without a little heartbreak. "I have enough material to pull on," Will laughs. "I'm kind of doing a relationship a record. But it's not so bleak, there's a bit of silver lining. I find writing therapeutic. It's one of the best things I have in life. You wake up, you're feeling $h!t, and you get the opportunity to put it on paper, sing it, and by the end of the day you've got it out of you. It's a way of talking to yourself. Songs are full of the kind of advice I hand out to my friends, but never follow myself." He will always be the Original Pop Idol but the public has come to learn there is so much more to Will Young. A Politics graduate (with a 2:2 from Exeter University), he has written about gay rights in The Times ("I don't specifically address sexuality in my songwriting, because I feel love and music are universal, but there were things I wanted to say"). He won plaudits (as well as Rear Of The Year award) for his 2005 film debut with Bob Hoskins and Judi Dench in 'Mrs Henderson Presents' and in 2007 starred in a critically acclaimed theatrical revival of Noel Coward's 'The Vortex' at the Royal Exchange Theatre. "Acting gave me the space to revitalise my love and enjoyment of music." By the end of the touring and promotion campaign for his third album, the triple platinum 'Keep It On', Will admits he felt exhausted with the music business. "It is you on the line all the time and that can make you completely self obsessed. I had five solid years of it and felt like I was doing more meetings than performances, which I probably was. With acting, I can just turn up and do it. It helped re-energise me.” Although he has been co-composer on some beautiful songs (including 'Your Game', the 2005 Brit Award Winner for Best British Single), Will says, "I really started to feel like a songwriter on this album. I write all the time now, I never really stop. My aim is to make great pop songs that are really personal but with a strong sense of storytelling. I don't want to be self-indulgent and just sit in my study and wallow in my own misery. You have to have a sense of an audience, even one person in a room can make a difference. They are tales that I hope people can understand, or learn from, or relate to, or even make them question things in their life." After making two albums with legendary producer Steve Lipson, Will made the decision to work with a variety of producers for ‘Let It Go’. “It was time to move on but it was scary. With different producers so much more responsibility falls on me, because the voice has to really hold the album together.” Will’s relationship with Lipson continues on two tracks, the epic ballad ‘Tell Me The Worst’ and silkily syncopated George Michael-esque funk of ‘Love’. “We have an old school singer-producer relationship that is very important to me because it really moulded me. I wanted that to continue but I also wanted something a bit more rough and ready.” He found that with one of his long established songwriting partners, Eg White, the Ivor Award winning composer of 'Leave Right Now' (most recently spotted assisting the breakthrough artists of 2008, Duffy and Adele). “Eg’s demos were always a little bit clangy and clashy but they had a lot of life in them and that’s what I liked, there’s nothing clinical about his production. I knew he wouldn’t move away from the honesty of the songs and over-polish what didn’t need embellishing.” Will and Eg’s song, ‘Changes’, is the first single. “Eg really brings the best out of me. Writing with him is like having a very frank conversation, straight to the heart. This is one of my most personal songs. I was in a bit of a rut and I didn’t even know it. Writing about the changes I needed to make actually helped me get out a situation where I felt trapped by my own actions. That really is songwriting as therapy!” Other Will and Eg collaborations include the beautiful ‘Let It Go’ (“that’s my mantra to myself,” says Will) and the orchestral groove of ‘I Won’t Give Up’, co-produced and mixed by ultrahip clubland duo The Freemasons. “I think very carefully about who to collaborate with. Eg found this brilliant string section in Nashville, the Love Sponge Strings, and their arrangement is quite fantastic but we needed a bit more rhythm. You wouldn’t really associate The Freemasons with me but it works, because its like a disco track led by the strings. We’ve kept it really sparse, so the strings almost joust with the vocals.” Will jokingly refers to ‘I Won’t Give Up’ as “the stalker song”. “It’s such a declaration of love, it could be misconstrued, someone could actually be arrested for this and not be allowed within a mile of the object of their affection! It’s about seeing someone who is right for you and making yourself vulnerable and saying exactly what you feel. It’s actually a very brave song.” Another favourite is ‘Grace’, co-written with Matt Prime and produced by Richard ‘Biff’ Stannard and Ash Howe. “I think grace and charm are important qualities, they go with generosity, but it’s about someone who has neither. There’s a bit of personal hurt in that song.” The dark sentiments are counterbalanced by a gloriously uplifting “ooh-ooh” hook line. “That hook came from nowhere. The best ones do. A lot of songs have been done around the piano. I used to like to get a groove going to get a sense of the story, what the mood was. This time it's been a lot more about the chords, finding proper musical movement. I'm really very proud of these songs." Other songwriting collaborators and producers include former Alisha's Attic star Karen Poole, veteran producer Mike Spencer (who has worked with everyone from Queen and Jamiroquai to Kylie) and Bristol team Robot Club (currently working with Massive Attack). Between them they conjure up a sonic palette that encompasses disco, soul, funk and spacious orchestral chamber pop framed in plush, synthetic 21st century soundscapes. “I think I have made a soulful record,” says Will, “but it’s not second hand soul. I have concentrated on the purity of the song. The soul comes out in the delivery.” If his vocals sound as relaxed as a young Bill Withers he says it is because he is more relaxed. "I'm a lot more confident as a person. It's the best thing about getting older. I used to think 'if you can, do', if you can riff, then riff as much as possible, show them how good you are. I don't do that as much now. It's more about the tone and the lyric. Most of the vocals are original demo vocals, recorded as I'm writing the song, because you are in the moment and you're not really thinking about it." He was once the boy who put Simon Cowell in his place. At 28, on his fourth album, Will Young is a distinctive and authentic exponent of his own hugely popular brand of quintessentially English soul. "I know it's a really good record, the most concise record I've done, and I think it's the best record I've done. I don't take any of this for granted, but if I can continue making music like this for the rest of my life, I'll be a happy man." Link: http://www.rcalabelgroup.co.uk/artist_spot...ill_young/biog/
