The Lockout is a bi-monthly music event held in Camden, North London which prides itself on showcasing the best new musical talent the UK music scene has to offer. With the 3 last shows being complete sellouts, the next Lockout should prove to be the best yet with 6 more of the freshest artists taking to the stage.

Over the last 6 months we have had artists such as Beth Rowley, Scott Matthews, Grand Avenue, Mamas Gun and Passenger perform, with Beth and Mamas Gun now receiving regular radio play and Passenger appearing on a T4 special promoting their new album. Our last show on June 11th saw acts such as Jamie Scott & the Town, Charlotte O’Connor and Sam Heard perform, helping The Lockout to sell out for the third event in a row.

The Lockout is always a popular event, both with the public and music industry. Over recent months Dido, Rachel Stevens and DJ Yoda have all been in attendance to see the freshest unsigned talent the UK has to offer.

The next event will be taking place on September 18th at Dingwalls, located in Camden Lock, NW1 8AB. Tickets for this event are only £7 and available at www.lockoutmusic.com.

Taking to the stage this time will be;

Bo Pepper – with influences that range from The Pigeon Detectives, The Hoosiers and The Strokes, Bo Pepper are one of the bands to watch out for in 2008. With a new line-up in tow, the band have already been featured on the infamous Perez Hiltons blog (7 million viewers per day) as well as being sponsored by PRS to play the SXSW Festival in Texas, making them one of the hottest unsigned bands around. You may also recognise their puppet fronted video which had now received over 1 million plays on youtube.

The Ryes – in our new golden age of British pop, The Ryes make music that unashamedly has one foot in the past and the other firmly in the present. Formed through a mutual appreciation for The Beatles and Bob Dylan, the band have been touring extensively since July 2005, creating a huge following of dedicated fans. August 14th will see the band release their debut single ‘How Come Loretta’ on 14 Floor Records, home to The Wombats, Biffy Clyro and Damien Rice. Their album ‘Square Pegs’ is set for release later this year.
