I think we should have a thread for how Delta is doing in the USA, so that info is easier to find etc... the last i heard:

Delta Album: #116 - US Billboard album chart - 1st week sales of 6,048 (Week ending Aug 2nd)

&&& Still a lack of promo...

yes thats correct jack! it beat Kylies X which peaked at 139 earlier in the year, kylie being a established artist in the US with top 10 hits!

She was number 1 on the hot something chart for new artists also!

this was a great debut for delta, most new artists dont even debut in the top 200! we must also remember that In This Life has not charted yet.. its expected to be big in November. It is currently #28 on some airplay chart.

Delta is in Australia until the end of August, doing loads of promo for I Cant Break It to My Heart (3 instores!!). i think they are trying to get a number one with the song so they can take that back to the US in september when she is due to appear on Letterman. Mass promo should happen in Septmeber, resulting in ITL charting and people knowing who she is in the US. Apon the second single being released the album should rise up the charts

she is doing really well. she was on ryan seacrests AT40 the other week with ITL and the viewers rated it 91% loved it!

^^^ ooo is that ryan seacrest thing an interview? is it on youtube?

no they played her as a like a hot new music artist. then they asked if the song was hot or not and she scored 92%

she is now on the actual chart for AC... not sure what that means. but yeh. he played her video on some entertainment show and said how beautiful she is. is on deltatube i think

ummm leona, duffy and katy perry all had top 10 debuts, with leona going to #1

ur argument is stupid and bias

delta flopped. she flopped everywhere else except australia as well.

sry, she'll never be a big international star

she had a top ten album and a few top ten hits in the UK same with New Zealand.

If she is marketed right and make an amazing album, she will have success!

sweetie that was 5 years ago when she was kind of relevant. no one gives two $h!ts about her in the U.K. now. i would know since i lived over there for 8 months late last yr/early this yr.

also, "in this life" made it to #31 in new zealand. rofl its over

Listen "swetie" don't patronize the people on this board...we are fans of delta, we think she is an amazing talent, you don't , and we don't care...try get personal reassurance and a confidence buzz somewhere else or just realize that you are pathetic and get a psychologist to sort out whatever self-mental problems you have...Delta is not a flop, she has had huge success in 4 markets already, making it or not in america doesn't make someone a flop, just granted its the biggest market but its still only one, and she has more or less cracked it already....

Another thing "sweetie" honeybeez, 8 months is not along time for the grass to grow not a mind decide whether an artist has flopped or not...Her new album hasn't been released there yet so obviously people aren't going to know her as well as they did before, it means nothing, its irrelevant to whether she is a success or not because she has to bring her music there first...

Just go away, we don't want people here, and don't linger where your not wanted because i can see you probably already have alot of people hating from they way you exert yourself, why add to the list?!

So in response to your "i would know", get a reality check because you know jack!

Catty. I like it! B)

How can she have flopped here yet? If there was no interest GMTV wouldn't have bothered interviewing her either. If you don't think In This Life or the epic Believe Again stand a chance at all in the UK you need your head checking.

Well in that case you must know <_<

With the right amount of promotion, and some decent interviews she'll do fine :D

8 months? lmao 2 minutes then! Considering delta hasn't promoted here for years, how can she be a hit at the moment? Her first album sold almost a million copies and she had 2 hit singles from her second one, but didn't bother to promote properly coz of the kerry situation.... ALSO america isn't over yet, she has appeared on one daytime tv show? 300million people live in america? the tv show would have got what? like 8million... how can she be big over there when she hasn't even done proper promo... if you dont like delta then F*ck off out of her forum sweetie =]]]]]

Innocent Eyes sold over 825,000 and Mistaken Identity was 125,000. MI flopped in comparison though its still better then most of the female acts releasing at that time.

I think Delta stands a much greater chance of success now in the UK then she did a couple of years ago - first of all, pop music seems to be back in and solo female acts are doing better then they have done in a long time. - If you look at who's been #1 in the UK this year, most have been female acts. I don't get how you think you know that Delta stands no chance in the UK when you've lived here for 8 months - thats nothing, i've lived here all my life and follow the charts here so have better idea than you.

Getting back America, i was in New York for a month starting the week after the album charted, i was studying at a film school so i was with alot of American people. When we started talking about music and stuff i mentioned Delta - and one person had heard of her - and she really loved In This Life, she said that the song was becoming big near where she lives, others who hadn't heard her yet, i played the American album to them and they were like "OMG! She can really sing!" "She has a beautiful voice" - favourites being In This Life and Believe Again. I'm hoping that they will tell their friends about Delta and spark some interest there - sometimes word of mouth is just as powerful as radio.

ok back on topic people.

it hard to have a top ten album when no1 knows who you are. leona etc had a number 1 single before their albums were released. In This Life is still making its way around the country, it takes time for a new artist. once the single is a hit, the album will be also.

im working on dealing with this rogue veronicas fan

Ok can someone explain why is there tension between Veronicas' and Delta fans? Like that seems really random to me since they are completely different?

I don't really know. I don't know The Veronica's music apart from Hook Me Up and its a good song. I think its more on Delta's and Veronica's forum but its oviously spilled onto here.

I'm really positive that by the end of the year - the "Delta" album willl making a success in the US. Its obvious its gonna get a real push this month and next so all good things to look forward to

It's quite funny that Delta is being slagged off for being irrelevant in the UK now by honeybeez considering I'm pretty sure more people in UK have heard of her than the Veronica's .... .
