August 23, 200816 yr Author Yeah, I saw that too :D I think what attracted me to Will in the first place, was the pitch of his voice being very similar to my favourite singers of all time, the great soul artists of the 60s & 70s. If that person thinks Johnny Nash sounds like a 'chick' he needs to have a listen to the fantastic Stylistics, that was male falsetto in all its glory. :D We often listen to You Make me Feel Brand New on Youtube Marguerite. Love it. Having seen Toni's clip I'm even more looking forward to tomorrow's concert. I adore the clarity & tone of Will's vocals & he makes it look so effortless.
August 23, 200816 yr He's chosen well - not only for the way it marries with his vocals but it's also been the most played No.1 Hit of this Summer. How he can be described as bland is completely beyond me. As Carrie Grant said all those years ago - he has an awesome voice. Pure clear sweet and totally unforced. Johnny Nash song shines as top summer hit 12:05 | Friday August 22, 2008 By Paul Williams Johnny Nash’s I Can See Clearly Now has been named the most-played summer song of the past year in a new survey undertaken by PRS. The Warner/Chappell-published song is followed in the Top 10 by Screen Gems – EMI’s Walking On Sunshine, which was written by Kimberly Rew and performed by Katrina & The Waves. The Bryan Adams hit Summer Of ’69, which he wrote with James Douglas Vallance and is published by Universal, takes third place, while the Carlin-published Kinks hit Sunny Afternoon, penned by the band’s Ray Davies, is fourth. The Don Henley/Michael Campbell song The Boys Of Summer, published by Warner/Chappell, is at five, while the Top 10 also features songs that were hits for Mungo Jerry, Bananarama, Isley Brothers, The Beatles and Cliff Richard & The Shadows. PRS chairman Ellis Rich says, The summer’s been a bit of a wash-out, so it’s great to hear these classic summer-time songs that remind us of the best of British weather. All these summer songs have stood the test of time, which goes to show the importance of music in our lives and the nostalgia it brings, no matter what the weather forecast.” The full Top 10 (publisher) is: 1 I Can See Clearly Now (Warner/Chappell) 2 Walking On Sunshine (Screen Gems – EMI) 3 Summer Of ’69 (Universal) 4 Sunny Afternoon (Carlin) 5 The Boys Of Summer (Warner/Chappell) 6 In The Summertime (Sony/ATV) 7 Cruel Summer (Associated/Reverb/Sony) 8 Summer Breeze (The International Music Network/Universal MCA) 9 Here Comes The Sun (Harrisongs) 10 Summer Holiday (Elstree Music) Edited August 23, 200816 yr by munchkin

August 24, 200816 yr Like F/G wasn't too sure about that last note on the cover song, but the rest was great. :yahoo: Really worth waiting for, and he headlined, and the BBC didn't cut his songs. Saved me having to go and do them over.
