I think the accolade for my biggest #2 now HAS to go to Rule The World by Take That, also my 14th favourite song of all time! It never made #1 though, why?

Held off by my 2nd favourite song of all time, Delta Goodrem's Believe Again!

The following two singles spent 6 weeks at #2 in my chart:

1980 Odyssey - If You're Lookin' For A Way Out

2001 Supernaturals - Finishing Credits

neither of these artists ever had a #1.

The Wedding Present spent 5 weeks at #2 with "Interstate 5" at the end of 2004. They have also had many number ones.

The single regarded as the closest ever to being #1 that didn't make it is "Comedy" by Shack on 10 July 1999. The single spent 3 weeks at #2 and 14 in the chart altogether and finished 5th in the chart of the year, thus beating all but 4 of the #1s including the one that kept it out.

Kid Rock - All Summer Long has spent the longest at #2 for me, ever. It was #2 for five weeks, four behind Dizzee Rascal and one behind The Ting Tings and was my ninth placed song of 2008. It had the following chart run:

16-6-3-2-2-2-2-2-4-9-16-24-31-39-49-63-75-88-98-> 19 Weeks

However, the song that peaked at #2 and finished highest on my end of year chart is, inevitably, Chasing Cars, my longest charting track ever. It went like this:

4-2-4-6-3-2-4-5-10-9-10-11-16-23-25-26-27-31-33-39-39-43-41-41-47-51-52-58-57-62-70-72-68-66-75-79-83-88-92-96-100-94-99-> 43 Weeks

Lene Marlin - Where I'm headed

Eminem feat. Dido - Stan

Mohombi feat. Nicole Scherzinger - Coconut tree
