Take That have been nominated for the Sony Ericson Tour of the Year Award, at this year's Vodafone Music Awards.

 

The Awards take place on Thursday, 18 September 2008 at Carling Academy Brixton. I don't think it'll be as cut and dried as the last time. Girls Aloud did a good tour too. But hopefully, Take That will come through (if they were going to be beaten by anyone though - I'd rather it was GA!)

i dont buy 10 of the same songs but i do like buying all formats say like cd 1 cd 2 and the vinyl versionws of singles from artists who i really like mind you kylie bon jovi,def leppard and green day are the only acts i ahve done that with

The only way I buy more than one copy of something (and it has to be a long-playing CD - not singles) is when I have to have one in the house and one for the car (which is where I listen to music most).

i buy albums and i do a copy of them that way i dont have to worry about then getting scrated etc,,i love cd singles im so disappointd they are fading out i cudnt believe it when i was in the UK how hard it wa sto get singles,,its the same here in ireland but i live in a small town with only a small record shop so i understood they wudnt have a lot of singles but hmv in watford was so disappointing singles wise and so was the zavai shop

I think the 'physical' marketing of singles has all but died out now (and I have to be honest - I've never downloaded anything before - so I don't know what I'll do when it permanently goes out of fashion).

I really think its cutting a certain group out of the buying market. There aren't a lot of old people (or Opes - as Louis would say) who are familiar with downloading, etc.

 

I'm dreading being a pensioner! And believe me ... I'm not that far off!

Yes they are cutting people of alot of parents dont know much about downloading and usually kids go shopping with parents on satyrdays and with no singles available the kids lose out really and are made wait for album like now instead

Back to this downloading stuff though - it paints a depressing picture really. Everything can be done from the 'comfort' of your armchair! Have you seen Wall-E yet? It really is a brilliant film! But it is so true - in time - everything, absolutely everything will be 'done for us'.

no i havent seen it but i agree and its def going that way,donte get me wrong i enjoy th einternet but i wudnt be happy for it to be my life as in it been how i get all my shopping and even it been my work,the world is losing touch with reality everything is about machines etc and not about humans anymore
