Delta furious at Brian

By NUI TE KOHA

DELTA Goodrem is furious at lover Brian McFadden for snooping on her personal e-mails.

McFadden felt Delta's wrath when told he had replied to a message sent to her personal web address.

The message -- from a respected music industry figure with mother-manager Lea Goodrem's blessing -- begged Goodrem, 21, to make difficult decisions about her life and career.

But former boy band star McFadden, 26, intercepted the email and confronted, in writing, its author.

Goodrem told Lea she didn't see the email, then flew into a rage when McFadden's reply was revealed in last week's Sunday Herald Sun.

McFadden's reply stated: "Delta and I share this email address.

"To say I'm shocked at what I read in your email would be an understatement. Delta's business is absolutely none of yours."

Lea Goodrem confirmed yesterday that Delta had challenged McFadden over the email. But she would make no further comment.

However, Lea is reportedly unhappy with McFadden and believes the former Westlife singer has stalled her daughter's career.

In the email sent to Delta on April 9 -- and meant for her eyes only -- the singer was told to consider carefully "decisions that will affect you for the rest of your career".

It also asked why she snubbed management offers by proven US-based starmakers Irving Azoff and Tommy Mottola. Azoff manages The Eagles and Christina Aguilera. Mottola found Mariah Carey, Jennifer Lopez and Shakira.

And it questioned McFadden's dedication to Delta's career: "Is Brian willing to support your career by letting you make the right decisions for you and not necessarily for him?"

McFadden responded less than an hour after it hit Delta's inbox.

"Delta is an intelligent talented woman who is making discissions (sic) by herself," he wrote.

McFadden wants Delta to sign to his management group, but her supporters have pointed out his lack of hits and fading profile.

Industry heavyweights agree with Lea's verdict on McFadden. Goodrem has had talks with Mottola and this month met Azoff.

But the pop star has put her US ambitions on hold.

i hope this is true. it sound better than delta dumping lea for brians management. but brian reading her emails, i wouldnt take that. i dont think the relationship is going to fail over this, but you never know. lea would be so annoyed. actually so would delta. glad that delta has met with high profile management. this sounds mean but i think delta would be better off to leave brian and find someone more low profile and suited to her

So has delta not signed to brian's agency then?

Nobody seems to know

Well surely that must mean it isn't true. Brians agency vs. powerful american people.....

Is the media just being pricks to Delta again, or is Brian really starting to cause trouble??

If he did go through her e mails, I hope he gets what he deserves!!

I really hate Brian . I think he's a hypocrite and Delta would do better without him :P

If he went through my e mails he would no longer have a mini mcfadden

That's because he'd dump you when he saw all the old men you were chatting up :P

Rob! old men = money and i don't like to work so i need to have as many old men as i can get!
I think that the most interesting aspect of that article is the fact that Lea set this on APRIL NINE 2006. Now that's quite a while ago. What was going on then that would have warranted Lea's advice? Delta was still in the US then, wasn't she?
This story's got legs. It won't go away. There's gotta be something behind it. These journos know more than what they're saying. You must have to read between the lines to get the true meaning. I've tried but I still don't get it. Who was the "industy guy" who e-mailed Delta in the first place? If we knew that we'd be on to something.

When was she in the Bahamas. That would have upset Lea. Wouldn't it??? That was about the time she announced America was off. Lea wouldn't be happy about that either>>>

Also, this seems to tie in with Brian's custody battle for his kids, doesn't it? If he wants his kids to live with him he's going to have to live in Ireland, isn't he? So there'd be no point in Delta starting a US campaign if Brian was going to be living on the other side of the world?

You're right about this story having legs - Nui te Koha must have done some more research last week and now we have the more refined version.

It makes more sense now that we hear it was written by a member of the industry (a person from Sony, perhaps?) Because they have a huge interest in what Delta chooses to do because it impacts on their profits.

hmmmm i have no idea. this has weird stamped all over it
If you ask me the whole Bahamas incident was the start of Brian's public campain for custody. It seemed a really un-Delta for her to do. I thought, at the time, it had something to do with music. But there is no music. Delta being photographed with Brian's daughter was the next phase. I don't like this at all.

What do you mean by the Bahamas holiday being an un-Delta thing to do? Are you talking about how public it was? Especially the PDA's? Delta never used to be one for public displays of affection -- until she met Brian. Do you think it might have been a "look at us, a stable and in-love couple" stunt? I don't know.

As for Delta being out with Molly, you could be right. Maybe Delta's making an attempt at showing people she's interested in being a mother to Brian's kids. Or else, she's just doing what she's obliged to do, as the partner of a man with children -- which could be more accurate. But you never know -- Brian seems to do way too much fighting through the media.

But the main issue with all of this (for me) is that all of this c**p is going on while Delta could be touring and releasing music. Normally I wouldn't concern myself with Brian etc. but now that it's becoming apparent that he might be interferring or hindering Delta from releasing music, it's worrying me.

But then again, compared to the poor Britney fans, this is nothing!

EDIT Oh, another thing. I remember a while ago, a person on the official forum (in response to the heap of press on the 'Bahama Engagement' said that "at least all they can talk about is Delta's love life and not her music and career". Now Delta's career decisions are being questioned and that's no good at all. Because in the long run, her loves are inconsequential -- people will remember her music and success. So I hope the music isn't affected. :)

Delta never really struck me as a 'beach' person. She's, like, totally a winter girl. When she talked about trying to get a tan it was like "WHAT!!!". It's just weird that she gives up on the USA and then shamelessly panders to the UK tabloids. Another Jewellery malfunction, a night club exit, a photo with the kids. What more could you want????

EDIT: let's hope she writes a good 'Silence be Heard' song about all this business. People possibly wondered why she cut short recording MI to go to Wimbledon, but if you look at the MI DVD she was obviously recordiong and attending the tennis at the same time.
