August 9, 200816 yr Yeah, sure you have heard of him. He is Pearl Jam's vocalist :-). But then again unlike Nirvana (which i guess like Hendrix, Sid Vicious and Marc Bolan comes under that continuing marketing/obsession of an icon thing) and also acts such as R.A.T.M. don't think that Pearl Jam would be widely known outside their dedicated fanbase - i guess those dudes who would be intested in buying all their like 50000001 live albums, and i guess would probs be more likely to turn up next to Trey Anastasio/Phish and the Disco Biscuits in Relix magazine than something like Kerrang! these days... As for the film's soundtrack - actually I thought it was alright and possibly a better listening experience than trying to find all the old Pearl Jam singles that my bro left rotting in a box somewhere in the house...
August 9, 200816 yr Author well, It's nothing groundbraking, I know ;) But sometimes I like to listen some quiet, acoustic, carefully crafted songs.
August 9, 200816 yr I've got a few Pearl Jam albums somewhere - "Ten", "Vs" and "No Code".... Kind of a band I could take or leave tbh, I was always much more into stuff like Dinosaur Jr, Mudhoney, Nirvana and Pixies... This is okay, nothing great, nothing too bad... Eddie always had a good voice, he seems to be more wanting to be like early Bruce Springsteen (before all the "Born in the USA" stuff) these days, more low-key than wanting to live the whole "Rock" lifestyle.. Still, considering how badly the death of Kurt Cobain affected him, his retreat from that lifestyle is completely understandable....
August 9, 200816 yr I'm not to keen on Pearl Jam really but they do ahve some reasonable albums and all though i think Vedder has a powerful voice it is a bit too... low for my liking.
August 9, 200816 yr Author I don't have any Pearl Jam's album, even "Ten". :o However I do like some grunge music. I've got Soundgarden's "Badmotorfinger", Alice in Chains's "Dirt" and Mad Season's "Above". B) So as you see, I'm not Pearl Jam's fan ;-). But I like this solo album :-).
