June 20, 200619 yr I met Bea in London for lunch. She was intending to book for the same day I was going - and got it wrong. We met up for lunch and I showed them where the thatre was - and the stage door. And guess who came walking up? I was home by 8:30 after a lovely day. It's good to see Bea so well.

June 21, 200619 yr I think Meg may have gone again last night as there are new pictures on Net and they are up to Megs usual great standard. She did say however that Darius coughed a number of times last night, hope he is not sickening for something as there is a matinee as well as evening today, maybe the change of climate from the States to here has had some effect.
June 21, 200619 yr Today doesn't have a matinee - only an evening show. Friday and Saturday have matinees. D missed a couple of notes yesterday and coughed a few times. I hope he's OK. A few pics. I must say, I never heard him miss a note when he did his original run, but I went to less than 10% of the shows. Has anyone else heard D miss a note in this before? Meg, you would have had more oppotunity than most last time, did he miss any then that you can remember? I hope he is ok :(

June 22, 200619 yr are you going EVERY night Megham - it would be great if you did by the way! I am so interested in how the performances went, how he is recieved etc and I love your photos and reports one part of me wants to go again, because he is just so great in the show - the other cannot face sitting through the parts when he isnt on that stage, what I need is the one man show Edited June 22, 200619 yr by prettyinpink
June 22, 200619 yr That's why I'm not going to see the show again, PIP. It just doesn't do anything for me. The only parts I enjoyed were when D was on stage and obviously I could sit through those scenes over and over again but it isn't going to happen!
June 22, 200619 yr Glad to hear his voice appears ok.still waiting to hear from meg how he gels with bonnie. Do they fit together well. Regarding only wanting to see him and not the show, I do agree and in the same way dont want to see him at gigs with other acts and loads of screaming. Did that at plymouth and had whistles blowing in my ear etc.

June 22, 200619 yr I actually like the show. I like seeing the understudies when they are on (as long as it's not D's understudy playing his part) and I've enjoyed seeing the differences in the way the people react to each other and subtle changes to the performance. I really didn't want him to do 'Chicago' but, I do enjoy it. I'm not going every night, apart from anything else, it's not on on Sundays. Darius is doing more shows than I'm watching.
June 22, 200619 yr I also actually like the show and I would rather sit through that than see him at a festival gig surrounded by generally acts who couldnt hold the stage on their own. As PIP says a solo gig like maidstone or his concert tour is the best. I have in the past been a follower of musicals but now I find it difficult to visualise going to one when hes not in it and we do get a lot in the south west. I think from his point of view it would be good for him to be seen like that in other areas of the country so the public can see what he can really do.

June 23, 200619 yr lovely pictures, what was the comment from the gentleman He had really enjoyed Darius' performance....and well done... ....there was more but my attention was taken else where :unsure: It was so good to hear someone who was there for someone else complimenting Darius.......I'm very protective :)
June 23, 200619 yr He wasn't well today. He went on anyway but his voice was really hoarse. The slight cough and turned into a fluey type virus. One of the dancers said he really wasn't well. He went on to perform both performances. That explains why he looked so tired yesterday.
