The Saturdays

Chasing Lights

A girl band featuring former members of S Club 8? Bearing in mind that the latter existed solely to mop up the infants who were too young for S Club 7, it doesn't bode well.

but thats not strictly true is it... ok the concept and target fanbase was for 'pre-teens' , but the scj/8 project was good enough to appeal to people outside their target audience... because there was no way enough 'infants' to buy enough copies of their first 3 singles to give them 3 consecutive #2's!

the saturdays so far have NOT transcended their target fanbase....

Well if its Tweens your talking about - Tbh I think I'd rather have the Tweenies back in the chart with Number One...and thats not remotely cool is it....and even tho it's squeeky vocal territory that would never pass for the x factor live shows..i think its actually a better record..Up was annoying me now getting bored of the thought of it...B*witched and C'est la vie...thats an Oirish-Motown-esque classic and still sounds great and a fresh pop single now...whereas the Saturdays album will be stale by next year...

Tweenies - number one

:cheer: :yahoo: B*witched - C'est la vie :yahoo: :cheer:

btw from the look of it think the tweenies might be touring with the presets by now

Another review of the single ;

Appropriately named, The Saturdays 'UP' (Fascination) sounds like the soundtrack to a pretty darn fun weekend and exactly what the Sugababes should be doing (instead of caterwauling an advert for a chain of chemist shops). We do wish those in charge of The Saturdays would let them pick their own clothes as the whole colour-coding thing is a disaster. That is unless playgrounds up and down the land are filled with kids arguing as to whether they prefer Yellow Saturday to Pink Saturday. Personally, we're still fond of Green Saturday but not when she has her hair stuck up in the air like she's being sponsored by Shockwaves. Put the hair down!

The chart position is announced tonight, im hoping and praying for #5 - that would be amazing.

Great review, i have a good feeling about the albums posistion now.

Up surely must be top 5, they've been #2 on i-tunes most of the week so i cant see them getting any lower.

Some reviewers clearly aren't keen on talking about the actual music then. :/

I'm not happy, I was told it stood a good chance of taking Leon for #4 and he undeservedly beat them. :(

But top 5 is still a great result, well done girls!

#5 is astonishing. I mean who would have thought it 3 weeks ago?! Its incredible! I cant wait to see their sales, i reckon they're gonna be high - possibly even 33k+
They were 19.6K on Friday's midweeks which would have been Sunday-Thursday, so with Friday and Saturday sales, I'll guess at 26-28K
Oh maybe i was a little out! That means that they've sold half of what ITIL sold overall in one week! AMMO!!!

Brilliant posistion, never thought it would get that high. Shame they coudnt get higher though.

Up finally made the airplay top 50 this week at #45

tbh they were robbed of a top 3 place...

'geraldine' should never have been released...it is a JOKE record, so who tf has bought it?..

leon.... awful.. simply awful... much though the saturdays are a bunch of overhyped bints, 'up' is better then that track by leon.

im not keen on pink, but 'sex on fire' is the single of the year.... brilliant.

To follow the parody through ... it HAD to be released. It didn't matter if it was a hit or it flopped ... unfortunately - this is what reality show winners do ... release songs. And the fact that it was a 'paint-by-numbers' job (like all X-Factor winning songs) made it hit the spot even more. Those that don't get it are the same people who hated the show or 'didn't get' the show.

I bought the single along with quite a few people on here and I think the reason we bought it was to 'play along' with the parody. That aside .... it ain't a bad song either, especially the 'b' side.

I will add that I don't think it would have been right for Geraldine to take the number 1 spot though. Though given everything in the top 10 this week the number 1 and 2 positions are probably correct. I would have preferred the Saturdays to be ahead of Leon too (in fact .... I wouldn't have really been at all bothered if they were in front of Geraldine. Geraldine's song did its job this week.) 'Up' is a decent tune and I don't know why you keep having a go at it. As far as I know, at least the girls haven't been locked away in a studio with vocal coaches and top experts for the past 10 months.

Top #3 would have been good but #5 is great, I didn't think it would go top #5!
