My Chemical Romance To Support Bon Jovi

In New Jersey next month...

18/09/2007 My Chemical Romance are set to open for Bon Jovi in New Jersey after being personally invited by the MOR rockers.

Bon Jovi are set to play a ten night residency at the new Newarks Prudential Centre in the Garden State.

My Chemical Romance will support them for two nights on October 25-26 and Gerard Way says they are hugely honoured.

He said of the opportunity: "Growing up in New Jersey isn't like growing up anywhere else; there's an amazing amount of pride involved.

To be asked to open for New Jersey's own Bon Jovi at the grand opening of the Prudential Centre is an amazing honour. it's more than anything a group of kids from the Garden State could ask for."

Too much for me to paste but all the links and info are there!

I really must say it shows you need a life when you're trying to diagnose celebrities with illnesses

But at the same time do we think it could be true? :o

I really only like about 3 Bon Jovi songs but MCR are huge fans of them. ^_^

Thanks for posting!

Apperently it's because they are both from New Yersey. MCR adores Bruce Springsteen aswell ^_^

I suppose they take care about the legends in their hometown.

Nowadays it seems you aren't a proper POP star if you don't have at least one addiction or ilness :smoke:

This explains Gerard’s odd behaviour, mostly during Projekt Revolution. We all know about the fight on stage with Frank. His behaviour was aggressive and irritable. (By the way, I’m still waiting for someone to prove that it’s all good between them now)

If you have seen Gerard in interviews during Projekt Revolution, you know he behaves as if he had ADHD. He has a hard time staying calm and focused, and is easily distracted.

People claim that during concerts, they couldn’t make out what Gerard was saying. Some people also believe that during an interview on Steven’s Untitled Rock Show Gerard’s speech was indeed pressured.

Gerard has been acting out sexually on stage, simulating orgasms and talking about ”bases”. There are tons of videos like that can prove this on youtube. Some like the new sex-god Gerard. Some just want the old one back. The one who would hold speeches about homophobia, racism, sexism or depression…instead of moaning ”OOOOOOOOOOH MYYYYYYYYYY GOOOOOOOOD!”.

His sexual drive must have increased.

We all know Gerard has a history of alcohol and drugs. Some people claim he’s back on it, and after reading this I’m almost 100% convinced that Gerard is back on something. Whether it be alcohol or drugs (or both) I don’t know.

I know I’m definitely not the only one who thinks Gerard’s been acting out of charachter and odd lately. He does and says things he normally wouldn’t do or say, you know it as well as I. Some people say it’s because he’s in love. Some people say it’s because he’s changed, and we can take it or leave it. I say it’s because he’s probably bipolar.

So, what do we want !! The new sex God or the old Gerard :o

Thanks for posting Gee

October 25 and 26 MCR will be the special guests at the Bon Jovi concert.

So hope we will be able to see it on YouTube :o

I guess we all saw this coming, but in a recent interview with a Detroit newspaper, Gerard said he can't imagine there being a new My Chemical Romance album until "I would say about 2009." Like the sudden supposed wedding news wasn't enough of a bummer?

Gerard added that the hiatus was a way for the band to "to really evaluate what the band is, to reshape it yet again. When asked about the subject of death and how it played into the theme of The Black Parade, as well as the band's earlier efforts, Gerard said he might be done with that subject, hoping when the band comes back, it will be with "completely fresh ears."

The reevaluation/time off is all about what the band stands for and means to him. He added, "You make a record if you have something to say. And I think I have at least one more great thing to say." And that's an awfully loaded statement that probably isn't the best of news for the band's fans. It almost sounds like the far-off, "maybe 2009" album, could be their last.

Then again, this is Gerard who was being interviewed, so for all we know, they could have a new album on shelves next week that he forgot to mention. As is almost always the case with My Chemical Romance, you only really know what Gerard wants you to know at that moment, and he's often full of random surprises and his life tends to be rather dictated by his moods and/or whimsy.

In the meantime, fans can look forward to the first issue of Gerard's comic, "The Umbrella Academy," as the first issue is in comic stores now. The preview, which was part of "free comic book day" last May, was quite promising, and gave everyone a taste, and next week, we'll finally have a chance to see how the miniseries plays out.

Ha Gerard is so crazy. One minute he says one thing the next he ges and does something absolutely different. Reminds me so much of myself

But I was thinking a 2009 album would make sense tbh - but I really hope it isn't their last. :(

I don't want to have to wait so long only to know we will never have anymore MCR stuff again :o If that happens Gerard should go solo ha.

Opinions?

The band Say Anything release their latest album on October 23rd [in the states].

The record features tonnes of appearances by the biggest stars in the rock/emo world right now including our very own Gerard Way who lends his vocals to the title track.

Only certain tracks from the record have been posted on the group's Myspace so far [sadly the Gerard one has not] but with the album's release date a fortnight away hopefully we can get our hands on it soon!

So even if MCR are out of the pivture til 2009 we can fall back on a new song with Gerard's voice on

Here's the whole list of guests on the record:

# Pete Yorn - vocals on "Skinny, Mean Man"

# Anna Waronker (of That Dog.) - vocals on "No Soul"

# DJ Swamp - Turntables on "No Soul"

# Adam Lazzara (of Taking Back Sunday) - vocals on "Surgicallly Removing the Tracking Device"

# Fred Mascherino (formerly of Taking Back Sunday) - vocals on "Surgicallly Removing the Tracking Device"

# Anthony Raneri (of Bayside) - vocals on "This is f***ing Ecstasy"

# Hayley Williams (of Paramore) - vocals on "The Church Channel"

# Caithlin De Marrais (of Rainer Maria) - vocals on "Shiksa (Girlfriend)"

# Chris Carrabba (of Dashboard Confessional) - vocals on "Retarded In Love"

# Michael Auerbach - vocals on "Retarded In Love"

# “Spacey” Casey Prestwood (of Hot Rod Circuit) - Pedal Steel on "Retarded In Love"

# Trever Keith (of Face To Face) - vocals on "People Like You Are Why People Like Me Exist"

# Chris Conley (of Saves The Day) - vocals on "Sorry, Dudes. My Bad."

# Gerard Way (of My Chemical Romance) - vocals on "In Defense of the Genre"

# Joshua Sultan - vocals on "The Truth Is, You Should Lie With Me"

# Matt Skiba (of Alkaline Trio) - vocals on "About Falling"

# Laura Kirsch - vocals on "About Falling"

# Jordan Pundik (of New Found Glory) - vocals on "You’re The w*n**r, If Anyone Is"

# Chad Gilbert (of New Found Glory) - vocals on "You’re The w*n**r, If Anyone Is"

# Aaron Gillespie (of Underoath and The Almost) - vocals on "You’re The w*n**r, If Anyone Is"

# Andy Jackson (of Hot Rod Circuit) - vocals on "We Killed It"

# Anthony Green (of Circa Survive) - vocals on "Hangover Song"

# Kenny Vassoli (of The Starting Line) - vocals on "Plea"

# Hayley Williams (of Paramore) - vocals on "Plea"

Quite an honor he's doing the title song aswell. Looking forward to that.

Really hope it doesn't take that long before a new MCR album gets released tho :o

2009 sounds like another millenium :drama:

The black parade was released in 2006 ! 2 years seems a long time with no new material coming out.

Especially when they are nominated for the european MTV awards and they could take advantage of their growing popularity. On the other hand it's best to wait for some really new stuff rather than having a copy of the Black parade.

Well the guys haven't really had a break since like 2004 - not a long one anyway!

And there's such a thing as overkill - I wouldn't want them to burn out and make something that is only half as good as what they can produe when they're on top form.

My Chemical Romance coming to Hoboken

My Chemical Romance - a band whose musical style has been called everything from rock to pop to punk - will play a special benefit show at Maxwell's next week, according to Revolt Media and several other music sites. But the show is already sold out!

The band announced the benefit concert to fans who had signed up for e-mail alerts, and tickets went on sale Monday and will be cost $100 each, with a limit of two per customer. The band announced today that tickets are already sold out.

So what's it a benefit concert for? Revolt Media says:

All proceeds from the concert will be donated to charity, although the group has not yet named which organization it is supporting.

The band is opening for Bon Jovi on Oct. 25 and 26th at the Prudential Center in Newark, then play a show in Maine on Oct. 27 before heading overseas to tour Europe, Revolt Media reported.

Tonight's the nigth :o MCR will enter the stage at 7.30 PM

Not sure about the time difference  Break a leg Guys!!

Next-generation New Jersey band My Chemical Romance opened the show, playing a hot set that veered from Stonesy swagger to Queen-like grandiosity. Singer Gerard Way -- dressed in black-on-black, a shock of raven hair over his pale, chiseled features -- seems born to rivet big venues, the Belleville native's melodramatic gestures fueling tunes from the band's hit third album, the rock-operatic "Welcome to the Black Parade." If the middle-aged men were baffled, the young girls understood, with Way's every move eliciting squeals of adoration.

Although it's hard to imagine Jon Bon Jovi freely listening to My Chemical Romance's gothic glam-punk, the singer came back for his band's encores outfitted in a My Chemical Romance T-shirt. Way had talked about one of those encores, "Living on a Prayer," being his longtime "Bon Jovi karaoke jam," and Jon Bon Jovi's sartorial tribute returned the favor, as well as shrewdly made him look cool in younger eyes. Don't be surprised if he runs for governor some day.
