August 21, 200816 yr well, because the download is 1 week earlier, I don't think it'll go into the top 5 now. So I say top 10 (might be top 5 tho and then vanish forever)
August 22, 200816 yr This won't reach Top 3 but Top 5 it will. And it will stay around longer than their others...
August 22, 200816 yr Think this will do well with a seperate download/CD release but the chart run will still end up being just as bad! - 12-3-23-54-75
August 22, 200816 yr voted top 5, as i think this will have less of an impact than the previous lead single but as mentioned McFly fans tend to rush buy so it'll probably still chart high. The D/L week before situation will be interesting- from what i remember Radio sold about 36k release week and 28k was physical so may not even go top 10 until full release. Bit of a stunt to say you're giving you're album away free and then to leave the best four songs off it though, and i assume the album won't be out to buy until after this single forcing all fans to buy? Their recent tactics make it clear they're still concerned with chart positions. I am always surprised by the level of hate which surrounds this band- i mean lots of people on here like very poppy bands and these tactics are similar to what other big acts e.g. spice girls, take that, did in the past in terms of trying to maximise first week sales for highest position (pretty much every record company in the 90s did though), so i'm surprised people are so critical of this aspect. Also, they do play their own instruments and have ok voices and write a lot of their own stuff so while not my favourite i do think they are making decent pop music. However the own record label thing may be a bit foolish- remember it all fell to bits when the Spice Girls decided to manage themselves so i fear McFly are on the way out! Feel free to quote me in the McFly forum btw, i can take the hate mail! Oh and apologies for the ramble i hope it makes sense! Edited August 22, 200816 yr by spicefunk
August 22, 200816 yr Given the nature of their fanbase, T5 on physical release, then their usual precipitous dive. :)
August 22, 200816 yr OMG - you lot need to seriously get alife - the song is not even out yet, its their best in a longs time, they are trying something new with the download a week early..........stop judging them - if you don't like them, don't listen to their music - that way it aint gonna bother you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

August 22, 200816 yr Yeah but the Spice Girls had decent runs at least. I can't think of any other act today with such RIDICULOUS chart run. I mean c'mon, the last single peaked at 2 and spent... TWO WEEKS in the top40! TWO WEEKS!!!!!!!! Shame on them. They shouldn't try so hard to get #1 with every release because their chart run after week 1 are just HILARIOUS, they won't get any respect like that
August 22, 200816 yr I actually quite like this one. It has a very 80's sound to it and i could see it being a song attached to a movie. Lies and Heart Never Lies are the only two songs of theirs that i like. Maybe its something to do with the word lies HA! This really will be an interesting release for Mcfly though. Firstly, the download a week before the physical, and I'm sure by the time of release physical cds are no longer gonna be in the shops of Woolworths. This may well have an impact on them, and i have to hand it to Mcfly, they're probably the only band that are keeping the cd single alive
August 22, 200816 yr im not talking about the chart run - the way they release - its the same for amny acts but yet you all seem to want to point out mcfly! sad! - as i said if you don;t like them - ignore their music! Edited August 22, 200816 yr by rossyboy88

They shouldn't try so hard to get #1 with every release because their chart run after week 1 are just HILARIOUS, they won't get any respect like that  I think the only way for a band to get respect is to produce decent music actually :P Its all very well saying their chart runs are monumentally awful (true), especially in the dowload era where songs are hanging around much longer, but singles are usually quoted as "the top 5 single" etc (e.g. on the front of the album to promote it) not "the single which spent a total of 17 weeks on the UK Top 75" (doesn't have the same ring does it?) so its probably serving its purpose as far as they're concerned. Also, its not really McFly's fault is it? They have very loyal fans (wouldn't other bands wish for this) who almost all apparently believe in buying the singles as soon as they are available. Short of the band members wrestling CD singles out of shopper's hands during release week or releasing only a certain number a week to stores (perhaps slightly more sensible) they can't stop fans buying more at the start than the end. And even at that, i'm not sure peaking at e.g. 20 and having a 15 week run is preferable to peaking at 2 and having a 4 week run- i mean for all those who don't like McFly surely that way its out the chart quicker so you don't have to put up with it being played on the radio/music channels so long!
August 23, 200816 yr This won't reach Top 3 but Top 5 it will. And it will stay around longer than their others... Only because the early download release will give it *one* extra week, so it'll last 4 weeks in the T75 rather than 3... :P Edited August 23, 200816 yr by vidcapper

August 23, 200816 yr This song is better as the other one. It is quite catchy, but i have the strong impression I heard something similar before. So, not very original (IMO at the moment) but is quite energic. I predict a better chart run and that we will get tired to hear it on the radio.

August 23, 200816 yr Author the video got it's first play and it's brilliant invloves a proper story, fire, fighting and stuff it goes to show that mcfly put everything into their stuff unlike other acts who just sit on stools or walk about in their videos http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=byPmV-Zbmmk
August 23, 200816 yr Not a bad song and will do well for them but the way their fanbase is geared up they will always chart high and drop rapidly - I have to say I don't mind McFly but like Girls Aloud sometimes I think I hate the band because of their over protective and spamming fanbase.
