This song really is turning quickly into my favourite ESC song ever...it really should have won, it's the best thing Norway have ever sent, sung by possibly the most likeable woman in music, and written by one of the other most likeable women in music :heart:

 

I just watched the Eurovision DVD which has the videos of the top ten, and this is the 'official video' of the song

 

 

very X-Factor winning song-ish...it's clearly the radio edit played over her performance from the Norwegian live final, with clips of the evening, e.g. Maria and Mira's reaction to the voting, being intersperesed throughout...

and I just found out that 34 countries gave it points, 7 countries worth more support than 4th placed Armenia got...stupid diaspora voting :smoke:

I love this now but for some reason thought it was average at the time, i regret not charting it now.

I regret only charting it at No.1 for 3 weeks, but at least it had a nice long run in my chart, most Eurovision songs disappear quickly...it was the first ESC 2008 song to enter my chart (in March) and the last to leave (a couple of weeks ago) :heehee:

 

I've converted all of my non-Eurovision watching friends to this song, I just told them Maria was a new upcoming female artist. They didn't even know about the ESC connections :kink: but they all loved the track

Her album is definately one of the best of 2008 so far, she could be huge here in the UK, 'Lazy' is amazing.

she doesn't have the backing from record companies that PCD and Rihanna have :( she has killer songs, all she needs is some good promotion, but I've never heard of a superstar female singer from Norway before!

I agree, that track sounds a lot like the A1 song Be The First To Believe in places, but having thought of that comparison I then found out that it was co-written by Christian from the band :o
