In 1997 I bought the album Come From Heaven by Alpha. I have yet to meet anyone else who has even heard of them or likes them as much as me! Here are some tracks:

Alpha were incredible....... one of them's one of my best mate's colleagues in the recording studio these days. It all ended messily and unhappily..... another Bristol band from the Massive/Portishead stables, primarily produced by The Insects, the team behind many of Massive, Portishead, Goldfrapp and Alison Moyet's greatest works. (her Insects-produced Hometime album should be adored by anyone who loves early Goldfrapp/Portishead).

 

Alpha had another album in the can, not sure if it was ever released, though... I'll dig my copy out if you want to hear it ;)

Going back to Moyet - hee's the title track from her Hometime album - featuring Portishead's Adrian Utley. Magnificent...
