I saw them. :w00t: They were amazing. Not the best band I saw, but they were still absolutely amazing.

I'll try and get some videos/pictures up for you all later. :D My friend was right at the front of the tent, and i'm sure there'll be loads of full YouTube videos too.

yeah it was werid there was practically a mosh for every band at reading, i remember seeing Pete and the Pirates early Friday and there was a circle pit, it was great they had a good crowd but indie doesnt tend yo have pits.

Yeahh was the same at Leeds too, bar the indie bands I saw on the smaller stages. Is stupid really, as it doesn't fit. Maybe if there's a thumping baseline then yeah (i.e Hadouken!) but to something like LSP it's stupid.

i do like going in pits but for some bands its so werid, ther weridest one i was in was The King Blues where there was a massive circle pit but i was a slow song, the Dropkick Murphys pit was pretty werid too but i think that was mainly becuase my drama teacher was in it.

LOL. I bet that was well surreal. I didn't get into any pits really. I half got into one at Pendulum and I crowd surfed over one at Kids In Glass Houses, but that was about it really. The Hadouken! pits were hugeeee in the NME tent at Leeds.

Glasvegas have praised The Last Shadow Puppets in an exclusive video interview with NME.COM, which you can see by clicking below.

In the interview singer/guitarist James Allan says that Alex Turner and Miles Kane's band are the one act he really wanted to see play at the festival.

He also admitted that he was "uneducated" about headliners Metallica.

The Last Shadow Puppets played the Leeds Festival backed by a full orchestra tonight (August 22).

Suited and booted, Alex Turner and Miles Kane's outfit seemed slightly incongruous in front of the mud-stained NME/ Radio 1 Stage but the crowd, which spilled out of the tent, enthusiastically embracing the classy combo.

Opening with 'Calm Like You', the pair immediately kicked off a mass sing-a-long as they played tracks from their album, and several B-sides.

"You had a nice day so far?" Asked Turner to loud cheers as they kicked into LP title track 'The Age Of The Understatement' as the fans frantically clapped along with drummer, Simian Mobile Disco's James Ford.

Dropping B-side 'Gas Dance' as the first non-album track midway through, the band also included 'Hang The Cyst', which had the crowd again clapping along with its galloping rhythm, before returning to 'The Age Of The Understatement' tracks.

During 'Separate And Ever Deadly' the song got such an ovation mid-song from the crowd that the band stopped and then Kane said: "That's it, we're Kaiser Chiefs!"

With a chorus of boos following, Turner jokingly asked the crowd: "Are you booing because you don't like Kaiser Chiefs or because he said Kaiser Chiefs in a mick take way? Make your minds up." The pair then finished the song to an even bigger round of applause.

Following a sublime version of 'The Meeting Place', which showcased the orchestra's full range, The Last Shadow Puppets concluded the set with 'Standing Next To Me' and 'In My Room'.

"Let's have a round of applause for the orchestra," declared Turner, "And the brass!" added Kane.

"It's been an honour to play," concluded Kane. "This is only our third gig, so we thank you very much."

The Last Shadow Puppets played:

'Calm Like You'

'The Age Of The Understatement'

'Black Plant'

'Only The Truth'

'The Chamber'

'Gas Dance'

'My Mistake Were Made For You'

'Hang The Cyst'

'Separate And Ever Deadly'

'I Don't Like You Anymore'

'The Meeting Place'

'Standing Next To Me'

'In My Room'

The Kasier Chiefs part was soooooo funny.

lol at the Kaiser Cheifs part

i love it when crowds boo bands mentioned by bands on stage, i remember Reading last year Ash were like 'so you didnt want to see Razorlight then'.

oh and Lightspeed Champion this year was starting chants for each member in his band and then he tried chanting Fred Durst and everyone booed loads.

Ford has also been involved in another high-profile project this year - Alex Turner's The Last Shadow Puppets.

He produced their self-titled debut as well as playing drums at their recent Reading And Leeds Festival shows.

Ford said of the gigs: "It's been great, the crowds have been singing along. Alex Turner is quite a name in his own right and people look out for his stuff so there has been a lot of support."

According to NME mag Last Shadow Puppets were the most packed out gig out of all the tents over the weekend... certainly wasn't from where I was standing haha. It was packed, but MGMT and Pendulum were worse from what I saw.

thats what i was thinking, nothing could have been more packing than Pendulum who seemed to have a big enough crowd for mainstage and there was still jumping and pits outside the tent for them.

But to be fair, I think Pendulum was more packed that it should have been because of Slipknot cancelling (some people couldn't actually get in the tent either). But I got crushed to death at the front, had people jumping on me, I was jumping on people, and getting out of the tent... NEVER AGAIN. Was pure mayhem. I almost broke my leg, i'm sure loads of people got injured whilst trying to get out.

yeah i wouldnt of seen them if Slipknot were still playing, the worst thing about getting out the tent is the second barrier, i dont know if you have it in Leeds but we had it for the first time this yera and it was annoying getting passed it, after Pendulum i just climbed over it and walked off.
