In 1992, we had 8 in the top 10, 18 in the 20, 26 in the 30, and 34 in the top 40. Not a good week, then! Acually, we do better in 2008.

Also in 1992, we had the number one wrong for 2 weeks running. LUTHER AND JANET stalled at 2 officially. Quite a memorable summer, with the Barcelona Olympics. That was why FREDDIE AND MONSERRAT were back in the charts, and re-issued from 1987. UNDERCOVER covered BAKER STREET (the 1978 classic Gerry Rafferty track). BILLY RAY CYRUS kept going with his "Achy Breaky Heart", and come Christmas, we had to deal with a minor other version, with the Chipmunks. FELIX provided the housey/trance anthem of the Summer, or was that Snap? ANNIE LENNOX was back in the top ten. JIMMY NAIL was off a number one, 2UNLIMITED were are magic other trancey mates! BETTY BOO was getting rather boring, with her rappy styles, and nicking snatches of other peoples records. Shock, horror KYLIE missed the top ten. TAKE THAT found heaven, and were at their best, at that stage. LIONEL RICHIE took a long time climbing the chart with "MY DESTINY", and was still there in early November! AMIGO PARA SEMPRE meant "FRIEND FOR LIFE", and SARAH AND JOSE also took a long time climbing the chart. WAS (NOT WAS) originally recorded "SHAKE YOUR HEAD" in 1983, but in the `92 version, they were joined by KIM BASINGER. I do not recall PAUL WELLER`s "UH HUH OH YEAH". Mind you neither do I recall the BANANARAMA track. We had the re-entry of ABBA, and DANCING QUEEN because of ABBA GOLD, the first time. ROY ORBISON, gave us a re-made version of his 1961 hit, with K.D. LANG from 1988. K.D. stands for KATHERINE DAWN. BILLY JOEL sang Elvis, and also "DON`T BE CRUEL", from ELVIS PRESLEY himself returned to the top 75. JUNIOR GISCOMBE (of MAMA USED TO SAY fame), cut a version of the 1974 hit, by DIONNE WARWICKE/DETROIT SPINNERS...when Dionne added an "E", to her name, and it did not mean "Ecstacy", like THE SHAMEN record, of "EBENEEZER GOODE"...Naaughty, naughty, very naughty!! This was also the week "END OF THE ROAD", and BOYS II MEN hit the chart, and finally made number one, at the end of October (a week, when SIMON BATES, sat in for BRUNO BROOKES, on the Radio 1 Top 40).

Here were the top 10 albums, this week in 1992..

01 NE GREATEST HITS - KYLIE MINOGUE

02 NE LAUGHING ON JUDGEMENT - THUNDER

03 01 BEST 1 - SMITHS

04 02 DANGEROUS - MICHAEL JACKSON

05 NE TAKE THAT AND PARTY - TAKE THAT

06 03 NOW 22 - VARIOUS

07 10 DIVA - ANNIE LENNOX

08 04 GREATEST HITS - NEIL DIAMOND

09 06 BACK TO FRONT - LIONEL RICHIE

10 12 SOME GAVE ALL - BILLY RAY CYRUS

We were raving, a bit in 1992 because the other VA Compilations, in the top 20 came via RAVE ALERT (down from 11 to 16), and a new entry at 12 for RAVE GENERATOR II. That section must be dedicated to Mart!n, for we ask the question...Will Kylie ever top the Album Chart, let alone the Singles Chart again?

I was not expecting Slipknot to be that high. Hardly much happening in the singles chart as usual. I would love to see Glasvegas top 15 tomorrow.

Thanks for compiling

Of course The OCC Album Chart separates Artist & Compilation Albums.

So, you are saying, (Artist Chart), that:,

The Verve will Enter at No.1.

Slipknot will Enter at No.2

The Script will fall from 1 to 3

ABBA 'Gold' from 2 to 4.

Duffy from 3 to 5

Coldplay from 4 to 6

Michael Jackson will Enter at 7

Eva Cassidy will Enter at 8

Teddy Thompson will Enter at 9

Scouting For Girls will hold at No.10

'Mamma Mia!' Studio Cast Album will fall from No.13 to No.19

'More ABBA Gold' will Enter at about No.25 (Maybe No.26)

And the 'Mamma Mia!' Film Soundtrack will remain at No.1 in the

Compilation Chart.

'More ABBA Gold' will Enter at about No.25 (Maybe No.26)

Well, I tried to buy a copy of "More ABBA Gold" today, rather unsuccessfully, so I'll try later in the week I guess.

Looking at Trevs` written sheet, he has Abba in the top 70. I don`t believe it to be available, this week. It seems to be on his Asda list, which also has Go: Audio, and Goo Goo Dolls in it. These are not yet released I don`t think. So, I don`t think you will find it available.

I can`t see where Zeus, get`s 25, or 26 from. Trev`s hasn`t mentioned a position. Apparently it`s 63, in Asda`s top 100. They are certainly not in the top 40, let alone top 30. 18 hits, appears in the combined artist/comp top 50.

Duffy crashing back down to earth with Stepping Stone being a massive flop! odd that Adele's third single probably will have peaked higher :o

Such an awful choice, it's a good song but there are far better songs left on the album

Dave, I got 'More ABBA Gold' entering at No.25 - or No.26 - by following

Trevs Post, & removing all Compilations from his Album Chart 'Predictions'.

He has Glen Campbell at No.44 in his Combined Chart/Predictions, & then

he wrote that further down were another 1 or 2 Artists, then 'More Gold',

& then several other Albums.

Glen Campbell was at No.24, (when you remove Compilations), so,

I added in the next Act, & then ABBA were left at No.26 - with 'More

Gold'.

However - just because Glen Campbell was at No.24, & then Trevs said

that further down was 'More Gold', it does NOT mean that he was saying

that the ABBA CD was close to the Glen Campbell one - there could well

have been a big gap - which is what you are saying, is the case - Dave.

Anyhow, Trevs has re-written that part of his Albums Predictions, after

he mentions Glen Campbell - and he no longer mentions 'More ABBA Gold'

at all.

'MORE GOLD' - RELEASED IN THE UK OR NOT?

It is very confusing! It has been said for Weeks - by Amazon.uk, HMV,

Zavvi etc., that it was to be Re-Issued on Monday 25th August - today.

However, some ABBA Fans say they cannot find it in any UK Stores.

ASDA have it at No.63 in their Top 100. Earlier today, WH Smiths had

it at No.92 in their Top 100. NOW, WH Smiths has removed it from

their Top 100 - even though they had it at No.92 only this morning!

As a contrast, another ABBA Fan says he went into a London HMV on

Saturday - 23rd - and it was on the shelf there! It was in a '2 CD's for £10'

Offer - he bought it - 2 Days before it was supposed to be Released!

As a result, I'm 100% baffled as to whether 'More Gold' is out in the UK

today/this Week - or not. I don't live near any ASDA's, HMV's, etc. to

be able to check myself.

There seems to be some doubt on Abba. I spoke to Trevs, before he went out tonight. It appears that Asda`s chart, also has New Kids On The Block in it. That definately is not released this week. I would expect Abba, to be higher if it was released today, but as Trevs did the store checks, I can`t tell. I reckon the release has been put back.

"I do not recall PAUL WELLER`s "AHA OH YEAH". It`s not even on YOUTUBE"

It is if you search for it under its correct title - "Uh Huh Oh Yeah"

Printing errors! Thanks. :D

I think you're gonna be a little out with Eric Prydz this week, No2 easily by Sunday if not higher...

Yeah it looks like but tbf it was not easy to predict it because it could have gone either way. I never thought it'll be that high imo! :o
