March 20, 200916 yr Manchester United should beat Porto this time convincingly over two legs while Arsenal have a great chance at progressing against Villarreal. Again for the semi you’d have to tip Manchester United against Arsenal or Villarreal, although Arsenal have had some great results against Man Utd over the years. Chelsea vs. Liverpool will be as intriguing as ever: a battle between two master tacticians in Hiddink and Benitez. I just think Hiddink will prevail, as he seems to possess the Midas touch. Barcelona vs. Bayern Munich has the potential to be an epic showdown or Barcelona will just sweep them aside. If Chelsea or Liverpool want to reach the final then that’s a tough Semi Final, both have lots of experience in the tactical waiting game.
March 21, 200916 yr Barcelona will wipe the floor with Bayern. Bayern Munich have got Klose injured. They might have beat Sporting 12-1 but Sporting were absolutely AWFUL.
March 22, 200916 yr Okay, let's see.... Villareal v Arsenal Liverpool v Chelsea Manchester United v Porto Barcelona v Bayern Munich Villareal will have it really difficult against Arsenal, but I've seen how they play and imo they're actully better. Liverpoll - Chelsea is obv the most interesting one. They're both great, but I prefer "Spanish-Liverpool" (I hope Torres plays good matches  ) And well, Porto and Bayern have no chance against Manchester and Barcelona. Currently, Manchester, Liverpool and Barcelona are the best teams in Europe. Then it'll be Manchester-Villareal and Barcelona-Liverpool... Manchester against someone :)
March 22, 200916 yr Arsenal, United, Chelsea, Barcelona They're my picks for the last four. Three from four of last year semi's. Just another reminder of how dominant the EPL is in relation to its neighbouring leagues.
April 8, 200916 yr Only watched the second half but Chelsea played very well. Probably the best I've seen them since the start of the season, definitely the best I've seen them in 2009. I didn't see Cech challenged once prior to the Alonso shot right at the end, nor did I see Torres get a look in. Gonna be a very steep hill for Liverpool to climb now, 3 or more (presumably) at Stamford? Can't see it happening..
April 8, 200916 yr Chelsea did what we've been doing in Europe since Rafa took over. Hiddink totally nullified our two main threats in Alonso and Gerrard. 1st half was breath taking football - i've not seen a good of half of open football like that from any football game in f***ing ages. 2nd half was panful to watch as a Liverpool fan. Defence looked shaky as per usual against Drogba, and they controlled the midfield completely after the first 10 minutes. Best Chelsea display i've seen in ages. We tried to have a go at them, but in the end it didn't work and it should have been more to Chelsea in the end. I can't realistically see us scoring 3 at Stamford Bridge but you never know with Liverpool. All depends on how Chelsea set up, if they set up the same way they played tonight our wide players and full backs need to have blinders. The left side today looked shaky. Aurellio has been one of our best players this season but he looked off today. Oh well never mind, we got beaten by the better side who did what not many people can do in give Rafa Benitez a tactcal masterclass in Europe.
April 14, 200916 yr There's just not killing Liverpool is there :heehee: If there are no further goals Chelsea are still going through, so the result of the tie will still be the same. Still it was nice to see Liverpool whip Chelski's backside in the first half; and the much maligned Hotel Waiter give Guus Hiddink a lesson in team strategy despite a slightly odd team selection. But I think Liverpool really needed that third goal before half-time, as like a Boxing Corner at the bell sorting out their man who has hit the canvas to be saved by the bell, I fully expect Guus Hiddink to sort Chelsea out tactically and still go through. As I type Chelsea score 1-2 :( 4-3 on aggregate.
April 14, 200916 yr Author Well that was just bloody EPIC. Kudos to both teams for providing a quality game, kudos to liverpool for their constant fighting spirit and kudos to Chelsea for pulling back. As usual these two teams provide a top notch UCL game and my comisserations to Liverpool.

After that match I wish Chelsea the best of luck in their Semi Final against Barcelona.
April 14, 200916 yr Oh my god. WHAT A MATCH. I am disappointed to see Liverpool out of the CL but I'm proud of the effort they put in tonight; they played their part in creating one of the best European matches I've ever seen. The desire and belief was there until the end and I ask for nothing more, really.
April 14, 200916 yr Best match I have seen this season, great play by both teams. Pity someone had to lose.
April 14, 200916 yr Brilliant game of football. I'm struggling to think of one better. Some cracking play tonight but I think Chelsea dserved it. Just. Aurelio and Alex free kicks were absolutely magnificent, both had brilliant technique and caught the opposition almost completely unaware. Wasn't impressed with Drogba though, especially after 5 minutes when having gone down injured off the pitch decided to roll back on it!
April 14, 200916 yr I wanna feel disappointed and upset that we lost... but I just don't. To even bring the game to Chelsea and look like going through was an achivement, but to do it twice on the night was just a marvellous achivement. Every single Liverpool player can hold their head up high, and if it wasn't for an error from a usually 100% accurate goalkeeper and just a moment of brilliance from Alex then I think we'd be going through to the semis. Tonight just reminded me why I love Liverpool FC so much - players had great attitude and the fans were just brilliant (gotta love Chelsea's "you're not singing anymore chant" when it was 2-2 lol. Amatuers). I hate wishing injuries on players too but the moment someone snaps that c**t Drogba's leg in two the better. f***ing hate the c**t.
April 14, 200916 yr Author I hate wishing injuries on players too but the moment someone snaps that c**t Drogba's leg in two the better. f***ing hate the c**t. THIS. I have no more to say.
April 14, 200916 yr  THIS. I have no more to say. Put it this way if there is a bigger cheating diving assimulator in world football than Drogba then I have not seen it. The way his physique can make Jamie Carragher bounce off him one minute, then fall down as if he has been shot when a gust of wind goes by him the next is truly breath taking. My goodness he makes Cristiano Ronaldo look like Mother Theresa & Steven Gerrard look like Francis of Assisi in comparison. And then in the 91st minute he went down injured as if he had a major injury then delayed getting off the pitch for two minutes; then 30 seconds later was back on to get substituted to take another 45 seconds to get off the pitch was truly annoying. (Imagine if Liverpool had needed just one goal to win when he pulled that stunt off).
April 14, 200916 yr two $h!t goalkeepers does not make a good game, that weren't a good game watch United 4 - 3 Real Madrid from 2003
April 14, 200916 yr I wanna wish Chelsea luck gainst Barca, but that absolute c**t Drogba makes me think against it. The thought of him even getting a losers medal in Rome makes me sick. The whole game was an advert for football with sportsmanship from both sides, but Drogba just spoilt it all. Diving c**t. The way he celebrated at the end near the Liverpool fans was just a disgrace as well. I really hope someone snaps properly soon. I do think the ref was a bit quick to blow his whistles sometime and Chelsea's 3rd goal was offside from Lampard imo but that's football for you. I can't complain. We scored 4 at the Plastic Factory when we're a so called two man team, yet 1 never played and the other 1 was pretty much kept quiet all night by the Chelsea centre backs.
