August 29, 200816 yr I love Katy Perry but her ego is clearly a LOT bigger than her career will ever be. Lol agreed. Except I don't love her. :P
August 29, 200816 yr Miley Cyrus is popular due to her last name, and being a product of a popular disney show. Her lyrics are beyond juvenile... perfect for her eight year old audience. Katy Perry has acomplished more in her one song than Miley ever will in her career until she grows up.
August 29, 200816 yr LOL. HA. This makes me laugh. This $l*t will never reach the status of Miley. Miley's just awesome! Even if she did "use" the show to bring in sales, she has made awesome songs. Also, Miley has had quite a share of controversies and has therefore distanced herself from the generic Disney audience (i.e. crazy 12-year old girls) and she still has had great success. I doubt Katy Perry will have another successful hit anyways.
August 30, 200816 yr I like both of them BUT Miley has only had one decent song, see you again.. here other songs have all been kiddy rubbish, she's huge in america and that's about it? Small hits in OZ aswel maybe... Katy Perry is NEW, so nobody knows how here career will turn out... also didn't miley slag off katy a few weeks back? I'm sure she did, thus why she might have responded in this way.. well actually, she hasn't slagged her off at all, she's just saying that she shouldn't be thought of as a role model and that miley should... which she should... she works for disney...
August 30, 200816 yr It's not slamming Miley, and I don't think she intended that. You have to blame the sensational journalist for reaching that conclusion. I was liking Katie, but her comments about herself only serve to make herself sound tedious and contrived. I'll not hold it against her yet, because she came across well in the other interviews I've heard. Hopefully she was just having a bit of a laugh and was a bit bored with people asking about her being a role model.
August 30, 200816 yr Hot N Cold is already #6 on Itunes US without a video or promo, so it looks like she'll have a second hit under her belt :P
August 31, 200816 yr Whateva this lady says... At least Miley has 3 successful albums behind her and millions of childrem bought it. Katy has one single that is really annoying...i can't stand the tone of her voice...
November 16, 201311 yr http://www.jockboymusic.com/jockboymusic/images/2008/04/01/katy_08_image.jpg Katy Perry, famous for her hit "I Kissed A Girl" recently slammed Miley Cyrus in an interview for a magazine. Katy said: "I'm not here to be a role model personality. I'm here to be in the business of f**king rock and roll. Being in the business of rock and roll means having an attitude, being sexy, being edgy and being unapologetic unless I do something wrong…I look up to people like Joan Jett, Pat Benatar, Freddie Mercury and Cyndi Lauper. I want to have that same type of appeal. If people want a role model, they can have Miley Cyrus" Personaly I Agree What does everyone else think? :D Oh my gosh!!! I found this randomly..Katy Perry thought that Miley Cyrus was a rοle model for teenagers 5 years ago..Could she reconsider her opinion today...? Miley managed to be much more controversial than her..Be careful what you wish for.. :P I bet with one of my best friends about them 4 years ago..I thought that Miley would be more successful and my friend thought that Katy would be bigger than her. I don't know but i was sure that Katy would be an only-one album seller and she would struggle to make success with her second album. I was so wrong. I thought that i lost the bet because Miley failed with her third album "Can't Be Tamed" when Katy was massive with her "Teenage Dream" (One of my favourite albums ever!!!!). But i started to feel that i haven't totally lost this bet..Miley seems to be everywhere and only the time will approve the longetivity of them..(Basically i prefer Katy than Miley, so i don't care if i will lose it...). November 18, 201311 yr Found this thread 'randomly' after you've dug up about 300 4 year old threads?
November 18, 201311 yr Found this thread 'randomly' after you've dug up about 300 4 year old threads? I always look at the past.. I don't forget easily.. :teresa:
November 18, 201311 yr She'll be a one hit wonder. I think it's pretty much obvious. We have to admitt that those old topics have some comedy value. And if anything, it should teach us not to be too harsh on popstars, because we're quite often proven wrong it seems.
November 18, 201311 yr We have to admitt that those old topics have some comedy value. And if anything, it should teach us not to be too harsh on popstars, because we're quite often proven wrong it seems. This. That's why i commented to this post. When i read it on Sunday morning, i laughed a lot... Some people were sure that Katy Perry would fail to have success after "I Kissed A Girl". I thought the same too (without being member on Buzzjack). That was not a just thread..That was a document.. ^_^
November 21, 201311 yr This thread gives me the LOLs... Especially with people predicting Katy Perry as a one hit wonder (although, she DID seem one-hit wonder material back in the day) and the state of Miley Cyrus then and now.
November 21, 201311 yr We have to admitt that those old topics have some comedy value. And if anything, it should teach us not to be too harsh on popstars, because we're quite often proven wrong it seems. What is so funny? A valid opinion of the direction of the commercial progress of an artist?
November 21, 201311 yr I mean, in my defence, her first album is pretty hit and miss. Who knew she had "Teenage Dream" under her belt?
November 21, 201311 yr What is so funny? A valid opinion of the direction of the commercial progress of an artist? No, the fact people were calling her an "obvious" one hit wonder, and even more the fact people who saw potential in her were told off and laughed at.
November 22, 201311 yr I couldn't help but LOL when I read this. I didn't really like KP to begin with, but I never had her pegged for a one hit wonder either. Look at them both now though.
