October 30, 200816 yr Those clips are, for the most part, HIDEOUS. I assume the same person has produced 'Keeps Gettin' Better', 'Dynamite' and re-done the two older hits? Because all are absymal. It's quite clear whoever has produced them has absolutely no idea whatsoever about electronic music or how to produce it effectively. You cannot just lay down some techno backing, twiddle with the pitching a bit and voila. Where are the peaks and crescendos? Where's the subtle intricacies? 'Beautiful' or whatever gay-friendly slogan it's being known as by now (cheap pink pound pushing by RCA there...) has been destroyed. Fuxxed pitching, totally out of sync, devoid of emotion. It makes the lyrics a bland formality. Touché. If one thing Christina's voice succeeds at it is conveying emotion. Electronic music, somewhat pardoxically can often manage the same thing. Why not try and put these two things together? I just get the sense that this whole 'mini-era' so to speak has absolutely no direction behind it. Aguilera evidently wants to enforce a neon-art-pop-gaga image but this disappointingly seems to have come before the music which let's face it is flimsy and poor. This whole GHs though is a farce really isn't it? Poor tracklisting, poor video, no promotion. RCA seem to be using it as a cash-cow. Let us hope the next full album will actually reveal to us that KGB and 'Dynamite' were just rough ideas, quickly drawn up before the majorly brilliant neon-pop full length...
October 30, 200816 yr Hmm Dynamite sounds ok and Genie 2.0 sounds very exciting but the Beautiful remake doesn't sound great. Though to be fair we only hear the first line of it so maybe it'll improve as the song goes along.
October 30, 200816 yr Dynamite sounds really good the last ten seconds of the clip really sounded good. Well it atleast sounded ALOT better then KGB. I know that they are probably trying to save the better tracks for her studio album though... Overall, I agree...and I hope your right. I like Christina but this GH has been handled poorly...she has done close to no promo in the States (besides that performance at the VMA's which wasn't well recieved). Genie 2.0 sounds good and the same with Dynamite...the other reworks and KGB are quite $h!t though. I will probably end up buying this sooner or later of I can get eventually find a copy without KGB on it... :P And the one thing about Britney's GH (since it was brought up earlier)...that was right off the back of two of the biggest singles of her career (Toxic and Everytime), the tracklisting was great, and she also had 4 studio albums out before it. Not to mention the heavily promoted DVD that had all her videos with bonus features on each video. A deluxe edition of the album, etc. I'm really only using it as a comparison because they both started around the same time. Christina's tracklisting isn't that great (IMO) There is only one good new song, and the video for the $h!t lead single isn't that great. Her last single before this didn't do to well either...I hope it does well for her as she has alot of good hits on this. I don't really blame her for what I've stated I'm sure her record label is responsible for most of this. And I am not trying to come off as a Xtina hater, I have all her previous studio albums...but I'm just not impressed this time around. Bring on the next studio album please.
October 31, 200816 yr Author I'm sorry but Genie 2.0 sounds so wonderful. Sensual. I cannot WAIT. Dynamite could go either way, the clip is a tad frantic; we'll see. Beautiful's new version sounds vile (wtf is that instrumental?) but then again, so was the original. And I maintain that KGB is great.
October 31, 200816 yr the new version of Beautiful sounds pkay-ish as does Genie 2.0 , Dynamaite sounds pretty good, but these are only clips, the rest of the songs could be awful of spectacualr
November 5, 200816 yr All three other new songs leaked, and Genie is amazing, Dynamite is a bit $h!t and the new version of Beautiful is unbelievably $h!t. Edited November 5, 200816 yr by J-o-e
November 5, 200816 yr Author Genie 2.0 is bloody wonderful. Her best song the Stripped era? Possibly... just great. Dynamite has a nice vibe but a messy chorus. It may grow... Beautiful is alright in a very chilled sense. It sounds like a song from a chillout CD.
November 15, 200816 yr I can't find the version with the Dvd anywhere! I don't really wanna buy it online, can someone help
