Posted August 31, 200816 yr As hurricane Gustav gains momentum and heads towards the Gulf Coast, fears for the safety of those on board the Elvis Cruise escalate. We have just received a message from Jerry and would like to reassure everyone that the TCB Band, their wives and all aboard the ship are safe and well and enjoying their time onboard. Hurricane Gustav is now a category 4 storm with winds of up to 160 miles per hour. It is predicted that it will hit central Louisiana on Tuesday with the same force as Hurricane Katrina, 3 years ago. I would just like to add that my thoughts are with the people of New Orleans at this time as they prepare to evacuate their city following fears that the hurricane is heading their way. I hope and pray that it doesn’t cause the same devastation to the city that Katrina did almost three years ago to the day. We, in the UK, may complain about our weather but we are so lucky that we don’t have to experience anything like this.
