April 5, 200619 yr Those are all pretty fair criticisms to be honest, I can definitely see the Xenophobia part and it certainly wasnt the best horror film I'd seen all decade   , not even the best horror film I'd seen that month ('Hills Have Eyes' remake was loads better IMHO....). and the origianl was better than that, and cheap at the moment in music zone
August 2, 200618 yr does anyone know if the extended dvd has much extra footage? http://www.axelmusic.com/resources/covers/0/043396146686o.jpg
August 2, 200618 yr http://www.axelmusic.com/resources/covers/back/043396146686o.jpg Features on USA version
August 2, 200618 yr Came in today at blockbusters and it has exactly the same special features. (I work there, it's not out til monday) I saw it in the cinema and me and my friend just looked at each other at the end and just went "yea.....ok then". It was a pretty average film with just the gore/torture making it stand out. It could have also done without the mini softcore porno that was the first 30 minutes

The sort of rubbish that gives Horror a bad name. I quite liked Eli Roth's first film "Cabin Fever", it was a bit different to the usual horror fare, but "Hostel" just puts the genre back about 25 years really to the bad old days of the lame dogsh!t they were churning out in the 1980s....
