Those are all pretty fair criticisms to be honest, I can definitely see the Xenophobia part and it certainly wasnt the best horror film I'd seen all decade   , not even the best horror film I'd seen that month ('Hills Have Eyes' remake was loads better IMHO....).

and the origianl was better than that, and cheap at the moment in music zone

Features on USA version

Came in today at blockbusters and it has exactly the same special features. (I work there, it's not out til monday)

I saw it in the cinema and me and my friend just looked at each other at the end and just went "yea.....ok then". It was a pretty average film with just the gore/torture making it stand out. It could have also done without the mini softcore porno that was the first 30 minutes

so is there hardly any extra stuff in the film to make it more extreme for the dvd market?

If i were any of you i wouldn't dare waste my money on buying that c**p i watched it ages ago and it is nothing but pointless, pathetic. Gory, yes. but i was expecting it to be a one that would make you jump, but it doesn't. PLEASE don't buy it.

i've already seen the theatrical version. however you never know the sceens inserted into the dvd might make it better (then again it can be like donnie darko. it's one of the most boring dreadful films in its directors cut version. wished id stuck with the original)

i saw this film and thought it was ace! cant wait buy it when it comes out :P

but is it a standard case?

(i've got the hmv voucher which gets me more money off anyway)

Agreed, it's puerile, juvenile nonsense really. The sort of rubbish that gives Horror a bad name. I quite liked Eli Roth's first film "Cabin Fever", it was a bit different to the usual horror fare, but "Hostel" just puts the genre back about 25 years really to the bad old days of the lame dogsh!t they were churning out in the 1980s....
