Nah the talent pool is being exhausted. I reckon nearly every series from now will have a Leon Jackson-esque winner who dissapears quickly espescially if its one of those people with the fake sob story. A bit of controversy or the media gets tired, hype dies down and the format gets worn, BANG ratings plummet and it gets axed, it won't hang around like BB will with low ratings for 4 series. Xmas #1 isn't out of reach no way.

last year it should have been katie melua and eva cassidy but bland, boring leon jackson was #1

Sadly, nothing on earth will stop the X-Factor winner from being the Christmas Number 1 - no matter how awful it is.

The X Factor song is not likely to be released before Christmas this year. Simon "Cunning" Cowell stated that whoever wins, will not have the song released until Christmas Day (a Thursday), it will be a download only at that point. The winning person will have the physical in the shops, from Boxing Day.

 

Whether Cowell holds up to this, is another matter. He hopes that the download version, will be downloaded in it`s thousands on Christmas Day itself.

Can`t give a link, because I didn`t read it on the net. It was being discussed during a producers meeting, at the end of last week. I just happened to be there at the time!

Oh, and it looks like Take That's new album will be out before Chrimbo. If it is as unexpectedly good as Beautiful World then it will be a great album.
