Posted September 5, 200816 yr Amy Winehouse shocks festival bosses with booze demands Source: uk.news.yahoo.com Amy Winehouse has sparked new fears for her health after ordering 48 bottles of whiskey as part of her backstage demands for a festival appearance, according to tabloid reports. The troubled Back To Black singer is slated to appear at the Bestival festival on the Isle Of Wight this weekend. And the star has shocked festival organisers by demanding 48 bottles of Jack Daniel's whiskey to be ready for her and her entourage to enjoy before she hits the stage, according to The Sun newspaper. A source tells the publications, "It's common for artists to make requests for food and beverages before they arrive. "But organisers have heard Miss Winehouse has ordered in an extremely large amount of Jack Daniel's, in fact, a ridiculous amount that she and her team could not possibly consume during their short stay. 2 And festival bosses fear the huge amount of alcohol may lead to trouble. The source adds, "Everyone is really excited about getting Amy to perform here, and naturally there are now fears she is planning something wild." It was announced earlier this week that organisers of Bestival have been forced to organise a back-up plan in case Winehouse cancels at the last minute again. The star was recently threatened with legal action for scrapping her planned performance at a French musical festival just hours before she was due on stage.
September 13, 200816 yr The local news said that the crowd dispersed even while she was "singing". It was less than half by the time she had finished after half an hour + 15 minutes faffing about trying to remember who her band were. She arrived at Robin Hill at 9pm but refused to get out of the car "until you clear up this effing mud"! I don't know what happened then but she eventually appeared at about 10.45 and was gone by 11.30. One lad I spoke to said he only stayed for two songs because she was dreadful. Out of time with the band and fiddling with her hair and her dress. There are rumours that her people and Amy herself did £5,000 worth of damage to the hotel they were staying at but this isn't confirmed. I feel that the organisers shouldn't book her as they are, in effect, ripping off the punters. By contrast, Will Young (obviously my favourite!) did his set in a different stage because the first one had sunk into the mud. He had to cut it short because of time constraints. He played to a huge crowd of enthusiastic people - singing along to the hits especially Leave Right Now. He was disappointed when his PA told him he had to wind up the set! PS I fell over - flat on my back! Edited September 13, 200816 yr by Pearl
