Hi everyone I'm a new member and a huge fan of Christina and especially of her rnb and blues style on Back to Basics. In the past she has always sung from the heart and that is whyI 'm so shocked at how mediocre and bland her new song "Keeps Getting better is!

"Back to Basics" really showed her amazing voice with the varied styles of music and it saddens me that she didn't work on that and keep building on it since the album! She has the potential to be one of the greatest vocalists yet she has surprisingly chosen not to continue in the soul/blues style but to sell-out and make a crappy pop song. "Keeps getting better" is the type of song for a pop star who can't sing! I thought she was a real artist! Where has the soul and the passion in her voice gone to? What the hell happened?!

Please guys tell me your views! Thanks!

I'm not a big fan of the B2B era, so I would disagree. She is known for pop music, mostly. I think B2B was experimental as the "electropop" is going to be.

 

obviously, this is just a song that she recorded for her greatest hits album, so , let's say, it's just filling. the song won't be included in her next studio album. christina is an exceptional vocalist, probably one of the best, so the fact that she released a not so good pop song doesn't mean that she won't go back to her old level.

nothing has happened at all, she's just trying out something new.

the song might grow on most of us eventually, who knows? :)

I agree. B2B was a great era (in picture and in sound haha). I know she likes experimenting with different types of music but this is not what I had expected.

 

I doubt though that the soul and the passion in her voice have disappeared hehe Like Ina said, I think it's just filling, doesn't mean she won't go back to what she does best (and that's not this pop with no emotions at all <_< )

I wasnt a huge fan of B2B tbh. But i really like Keep's Getting Better after just a few listens and i think it may grow on me even more.

I agree, I like KGB.

 

As for the soul - I've heard it in Stripped and B2B. I liked B2B, but I don't want her to make the same album again just for the sake of keeping her 'soul', if it's just for the sake of it.

She was amazing in the Stripped and B2B era, now she is just...BLAH.

How can this era be 'blah' when you only have one song and one performance to judge on? I just don't understand.
