Mira Craig not qualifying would be a bit like when Sangria didn't qualify last time with that woman singing 'Winning Streak'. :o It'll be very interesting to see the results of the semi finals. ^_^

and as for Mira, if she fails to qualify then fair enough, but if she comes 13th in the semi and scrapes through, I do think she could have a good chance of going higher in the final, as that's where a lot of her fans are -_-

this also happened the time I hosted BJSC8...Jester's Kingdom with Gwen Stefani's Wonderful Life took an absolute AGE to score and was in last place for a long time, and then qualified easily in 7th at the end...it all depends on what order people vote

With luck it will probably be on the next contest. I might aswell spill the beans because nobody knows who she is- Jody the new south african idols winner. She is only 16 though but in my opinion she is in the same callibre as Rihanna etc- just she isnt american or british so she wont be as successful. Anyways i should go searching for the track.

Farahtyn are having some technical issues in there country. The ISP for the country NotVirginMediaAsWeAreWhores has been relcuntant to provide a proper internet connection for the country. So Farahtyn may miss the vote deadline for the semi final. At this time we are trying to fix this issue and still aim to vote by the deadline.

I can't say I've ever paid any attention to South African music but I might start...I'd love to visit that country to be honest, after Sweden, Denmark and Norway it's next on my wish list

I had Fahrenheit in my national final for the last contest but most people seemed a bit indifferent to them :(

 

I think alot of South African rock/indie kind of stuff it very good and very creative at times but sadly rock doesn't usually fare well at this competition.

Why? The competition should be more open minded. When I had to listen through everything I blocked out that I love rock metal etc. Thats how i gave points. I think when voters see the names like Mariah Carey etc- established singers they give them points immediately just because they already like them and find it hard to get into other types of music. For example a britney spears/miley cyrus fan will probably have a stroke if a band like underoath randomly comes on the radio.

I certainly wouldn't avoid watching a song from this genre in full because I didn't like the look of it in the recap video

 

having said that, I wouldn't send a rock song myself, not because I'm too scared, but because it doesn't reflect my personal tastes
