IUC Blog Chat: The Shania Twain rumors edition

Ian Halperin held a chat on his website earlier this week, with various media-related guests, including magazine editors and reporters, photographers, and studio musicians. Shania was one of the main topics of the chat, and these guests had supposedly knew and talked to Shania over the years.

 

Important Disclaimer - I'm going to list what was mentioned in the chat, but please take all of this info with a grain of salt. I would definitely classify these things as RUMORS, not facts.

 

The media guests in the chat were all Shania fans. They all expressed admiration for her, and they all think she can make a HUGE comeback.

 

They were asked about what Shania has been doing lately, and they said she's doing alot of reflecting on her life. There was a time when they thought she'd drop out of the music business completely. She was distant and unhappy, and not like the Shania they knew years ago. This was all around the time of the split, I believe.

 

When asked about what Shania has been doing lately, one of the media guests replied "She's been getting high". He wouldn't say anything more about the subject, though, even when asked. It could have been a joke, so I wouldn't take it too seriously.

 

Remember the Mark Knopfler rumor? It seems Ian got that rumor from a friend of his who is a studio musician. The musician said that he had been contacted to go into the studio with Mark and Shania, and they're trying to coordinated their schedules, but so far they haven't been able to get together.

 

They said that Shania may have a duet on her new album. Vanessa Hudgens, from Disney's High School Musical, wants to break into the music industry in a big way, and Vanessa's people want Shania to help her do so. Vanessa's people have talked to Shania about a Shania and Vanessa duet, and supposedly this would help Vanessa's career in the same way that Shania helped Billy Currington's career.

 

When asked about the musical direction of Shania's new album, one person said he expects it to be more rock-sounding, as opposed to being pure country or pop.

i like the sound of a more rock sounding album, she can pull that off

but please keep away from HSM :puke:
