September 10, 200816 yr This week sucks. :( Pink not #1, Just Stand Up not top 10, Jordin and Leona non-movers. :(
September 11, 200816 yr The VMA's were just this past Sunday when the chart cut off is I'm pretty sure. The downloads wouldn't have made the deadline. ;) Plus, like I've said, I'm pretty sure POM is not eligible to re-enter on the Hot 100. Instead it would chart on the Recurrents chart if anything.
September 11, 200816 yr pink wont hit number one probably for a while due to t.i.'s EXTREMELY HIGH AIRPLAY :D
September 11, 200816 yr pink wont hit number one probably for a while due to t.i.'s EXTREMELY HIGH AIRPLAY :D Tbh her best chance is next week, cos she's like 2:1 on iTunes, her lead will reduce after that...and she will never be close enough to T.I on airplay, and so will constantly need to sell alot more each week and that aint really possible!
September 11, 200816 yr the US charts are so unfair...they should remove airplay from the chart.... rap, hip hop tunes always get a million times more airplay than pop songs which leads to a point where a pop song has to sell double or triple the figures of a hip hop or rap tune in order to reach a higher position on the charts..... Leona sold more than 3 million downloads with 'Bleeding love' yet she only managed 4 non-consecutive weeks at the top.. while other hip hop tunes like 'Lollipop' sold a lot less yet stayed more at the top....

Tbh what you said is partly true and also party trash! Hiphop will always have higher airplay and in some ways it's on fair. But, they have to on many of the big stations play the music that is popular in the clubs, not just the best stuff out there...otherwise listeners drop! The part which was 'trash' was your use of 'Bleeding Love', because if you wanted to go on sales alone, BL only topped the chart for 4 weeks, so it was not hard done by in the slightest. Lil Wayne did get alot more than he deserved but oh well! Tbh the only person hard done by in those months was....Madonna!

TBH y all of of sudden is everyone making a big deal about the airplay chart and hip hop tunes being played more. back in the 80s, the hot 100 airplay chart was predominantly rock and pop songs by white artists. where is the complaining in that? now hip hop tunes are being scrutinized that are being performed by BLACK artists. wake up people, times have changed now and radio does evolve. that's just how i feel.

Ethnicity has NOTHING to do with the way the charts are set up...Billboard didn't arrange it that way thinking "Oh, well the white people had there chance let's give black people a chance". And it makes perfect sense that sales should be more important then radio play. Sales are units bought, as in each unit was sold to somebody that wanted that music. While airplay is effected by big corporations and bribing record labels...mediabase is maybe 30% decided by the public via requests. So which do you think should have more effect on the charts? It should ATLEAST be 60% sales and 40% radio play rather then vice versa.
