October 7, 200816 yr I haven't heard most of those actually  he's just a name I don't recall liking much by, but he hasn't actually had that many big hit singles has he...3 top ten hits, I thought he'd had more!
October 7, 200816 yr well he's not exactly a very commercial dance artist. Many of his hits were instrumentals too.
October 7, 200816 yr Saltwater , Stoned In Love   Don't Give Up had some remixes a couple of years later that i preferred to the original actually. Wouldn't it be time to create a topic for Chicane? :P Lol, maybe you can start one ;)
October 7, 200816 yr I thought Don't Give Up was awful but as a general rule I hate anything with Bryan Adams on it
October 7, 200816 yr I never had that down as a potential No.1...I thought it was destined for low top ten and that 5ive would get to No.1 that week, what actually happened was the reverse
October 7, 200816 yr Dance was just huge that year, it beat pop as the best selling genre of the year.
October 7, 200816 yr Xylem I like this :o This isn't even my type of dance song normally (well the re-release isn't, the old version is a classic of course). Tis weird SASH! highlights a time when commercial dance music was risky and left-of-centre yet still incredibly well. Nowadays commercial dance is built on rehashy re-releases, gimicky samples and general tackiness. It's a shame. It's almost as if time progresses yet Dance music is more 90s in terms of general chart music aestheti now then it was in the 90s! If that makes sense to anyone :S
October 22, 200816 yr loving his Best Of! don't think much of Run or I Believe (of the tracks I hadn't previously heard) but Ganbareth is absolutely excellent, should have been released here, what year is it from?
October 22, 200816 yr Ganbareh is from 2002. Didnt do much here, Run was more successful on radio, and I Believe was more popular on TV. I Believe is by far the best song out of the 3 imo, and has the best video. Ganbareh is actually my least fav
October 22, 200816 yr odd that he stopped releasing here altogether, I don't see why all 3 of these couldn't have at least gone top 20 in the UK...
October 22, 200816 yr Well like most european dance artists, Sash tested the waters by releasing in Europe first. The singles didnt do that well, except in Denmark. I do think the UK was his biggest market, so I think they could've done well regardless.
October 22, 200816 yr indeed, and I saw his chart history in Germany the other day and it's terrible! only Ecuador made the top ten there, and only No.7 at that
October 22, 200816 yr Germany's works a lot different. Missing the top10 might be a flop in the UK, but its actually considered to be a big hit by going top20/30 there. You've gotta see their top100 as a top40 in the UK. And songs there can go top20, then the followup Top80, then go top20 again. Same with France in this aspect. In the UK, artists can keep having huge hits on their name alone, but not over there. The German chart is also a lot more competitive as it gets alot of new releases each week from Germany, UK, US, and loads from mainland Europe.

Yes, I agree, a top 20 in Germany is equal to a top 10 peak in the UK. And Sash! had a lot of top 20 hits.
October 22, 200816 yr shame :( their population is bigger than the UK isn't it, over 70 million I think, so sales can't be that much different, probably higher as they are generally seen as one of the four dominating music markets in the world, along with US, UK and Japan
